Forums - Microsoft Discussion - 100$ price cut on X360 250 Gb Kinect bundle incoming ?

We are expecting price drops to be announced for both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 at next week's E3 conference in Los Angeles and the first proof of that price drop could have just been revealed accidentally by Target's website.

The Xbox 360 250GB Kinect Bundle is shown with a $299.99 price on the main video game page on Target's website. However, clicking on the call out box on the website takes you to the product page where the price is still listed as $399.99.

This could just be a typo on Target's part but more than likely this is a timing error for the in-site advertisement as the $299.99 price was likely intended to debut next Monday after Microsoft's E3 press conference and not this Monday.

With the most expensive Xbox 360 bundle dropping by a $100 it does raise questions about what will happen with the other versions. Will the Xbox 360 4GB Kinect Bundle drop down to $199.99? And what will happen to the stand-alone versions of the 4GB and 250GB versions of the Xbox 360 currently priced at $199.99 and $299.99 respectively? Will there be any phase outs of certain SKUs? We also wonder if this portends a possible price drop for Kinect as well.

We think a price drop announcement at E3 is highly likely given that it has almost been two years since the price of the Xbox 360 was last dropped. We'll have to keep an eye out on more possible leaks or just wait until Microsoft's E3 press event.

It would be overkill for M$.

I think a price cut of $50 would give a nice boost to the sales. But hey $100 is ofcourse better for the consumers :)

50$ on X360 50$ on Kinect.

This would  mean:

X360 4Gb Kinect bundle - 200$

X360 250Gb standalone - 250$

X360 4Gb standalone - 150$

Kinect standalone - 100$

100$ is rather ... a big price drop, true !

BUT BUT BUT if this infso is true about the "kinect bundle" then it only means 1 thing :

==> all "non-kinect bundle" are gonna disappear

EDIT : @donsterydo2

oh, your price list is ... pretty possible to me

50$ on the console, 50$ on kinet ;)

Time to Work !

@kowenicki: Me too. I don't believe in typos and mistakes in a week before E3 :)

so i wonder how much will the 250 gb standalone be , if it a good price i might just trade in for credit my 4gb slim and dont need kinect i already have one lol

fine work ms

Comfortable with the scenario ofr 100$ price drop and the concept of 50$ for the Console and 50$ for the Kinect unit. In all honesty this will end up a case of keeping up with the joneses.

Kinect as seen by PS3 owners ...if you can pick at it   ...post it ... Did I mention the 360 was black and Shinny? Keeping Sigs obscure since 2007, Passed by the Sig police 5July10.

That certainly seems plausible for the bundle. However I am highly doubtful that the price drop applies equally. You may see a fifty dollar price drop on all the console models, but the Kinect will probably retain the same price point when sold seperately. That kind of makes the bundle appear more attractive. Which is after all the point of bundles to sell more by giving better value.

I just purchased a 360/Kinect bundle. Right now I am feeling some buyers remorse, because the bundle isn't actually some kind of savings over buying the things seperately. I confess that I bought it, because it was all shiny, but I most definitely do not feel like I was getting a good deal. Microsoft needs to do a better job of making people feel good about buying some of these bundles.

they still have bundles at 400 bucks? mighty expensive I'd say
