Yeah that's what I thought when I first saw it

Never played a Shinobi game before but it kinda reminds me of Muramasa: The Demon Blade :)

By the way, I think the screens would look MUCH better if they were smaller (like they were meant to be)  

The trailer shows it pretty well (objects flying towards the screen, multiple levels of depth in the backgrounds and trees...etc)

Looks like it will be average. I won't be buying this but I can already see hte 3DS ending up with a similar library to the PS2

And I too would love a Streets of Rage return. I just hope it doesn't end up like Splatterhouse (what the hell were Namco thinking?!)

2D final fights are fantastic, i'm a big fan of most 2d side scrolling beat em ups, you know, final fight, TMNT, Guardian Heroes, Double dragon ect.

Final Fight Streetwise on the other hand........ uurrgghh, not so good.

Agreed. Never heard of Guardian Heroes until now (though looking it up now, I see it's due for release on XBLA later this year, and is a guaranteed purchase), but the rest of the games are great childhood memories.

The only good thing about FF: Streetwise was its difficulty (Pestilence gave me a really hard time, closely followed by the final boss). But overall, very poor transition from 2D to 3D.

Final Fight Streetswise had its moments yes, hell, some of the fights were actually quite enjoyable, but overall it just didnt quite live up to the Final Fight legacy for me.

As for Guardian Heroes.......... well, Streets of Rage 2 is my joint second favourite game of ALL TIME, and do you know which game that SOR 2 shares that accolade with? thats right...... Guardian Heroes.

Back in the day when i got my Sega Saturn only myself and 3 of my other friends had one (most bought a N64 or PS1) anyway, when we used to play Guardian Heores it was always a blast because you could all battle it out in the battle arena (up to 6 players at a time duking it out) anyway, despite there been only 4 of us, the GH competitive multiplayer was sublime, so i can only begin to imagne how much insane FUN is in store for me with this XBLA version, afterall, they have confirmed that up to 12 people can battle it out all at once in the arena, and trust me, 4 player games were nuts, the mind boggles as to how much fun 12 player matches will be.

Guardian Heroes is one of those games that very few people who have played it have a bad word to say about.............
