Forums - Sales Discussion - May NPD delayed

May’s NPD figures, which would have been released on June 9, will now instead be available on the 13th. The delay makes quite a bit of sense, as the report would have been published right in the middle of E3.

Keep in mind that the date has simply been pushed back a few days. Nothing else has changed. In other words, the reporting period is still the same. May’s NPD will cover all data received from 1 May to 28 May.

Not a very big deal. Not even a full week delay.

Well, better than last year when they got delayed to July.

My birthday, a monday, strange day to have NPD, I guess they only needed to delay for E3(?) rather than internal reasons.

NPD turned out to be a fad.

I don't think anyone cares since they don't even publish hardware or individual software sales to the public anymore. NPD is a waste of time now. We might as well just wait and get the information from the BIG 3 and the Publishers.

Pretty much yes. Shipment numbers are the real deal nowadays.
