1 – The console is more powerful than the PlayStation 3.
2 – Publishers are developing games for it.
3 – The new console is compatible with the Wii software.
4 – Nintendo will unveil the new console at E3 in June 2011.
5 – It will support resolutions (QFHD) Quad Full High Definition, but early games will be 1080p only.
6 – Gamers have a new control solution, with with two analog (sticks?) and Full HD touch screen.
7 – Full support for new engines, like Unreal Engine 3, CryEngine 3 and Frostbite Engine 3.

What do you guys thinkg about this? Not sure how valid this is but it would be nice to have a futureproof console. Maybe this is Nintendo's big suprise for E3.

Wouldn't be necessary.   2650 x 1600 is the uper range of high end PC monitors.    2160 TV's are not going to be a commonly sold in the next 10-15 years.

I don't think so , I mean Nintendo hates consoles based on visuals... 3DS!?

And Tv to support that will cost 4000£

btw, the R700 (the gpu architecture that cafe is supposedly using) supports up to 2560x1600, which i doubt will even be supported, (at least not at release, though its doubtful for it ever happening) it would be dumb lol, nintendo isnt going to be trying to push new tvs on people

I dont think they are trying to push new TV's on people, just giving it the ability to work with future televesions. I dont think the resolution will be that high, but i would expect they have plans for it to work with higher resolution TV's in the future.

Even if a R700 has enough pixel fillrate to achieve that, it's absolutely overkill for anyone. In any case, that extra fillrate would go to the controllers.

it would cost them money to add this and the chances of this resolution happening within the next 10 years is veeerrry low. and for mainstream support in the next 10 years? even lower.

I thought QFHD meant 7680 by 4320..
