Forums - Sony Discussion - Sony's reward program is too generous

I'll start off by saying that I already own LBP and inFamous so possibly I should be possibly be amongst those doing the  the complaining.

However ... I hold US, EU (and Japan) PSN accounts, so the shortage could end up netting me four (or more) games - Dead Nation, Wipeout, Stardust and Ratchet. For me this means months of free gaming as I generally only have a limited number of hours per week for gaming. And it also means that I will be putting off buying new retail games.

Do you think the rewards are over-generous and will it lead you to buy less games in the next months?

You are a customer.

You should not be worrying about about that.

People get bored from free games :D

Yeah some may not buy other games, but I think the number is too low to care. I already have my games underlined wich I want to buy and nothing keeps me from gettin them!

if these were the games you were always wanting then why didn't you get them before?

the answer is you never really wanted them :p

I never wanted these games. But because of these games I have put off buying Modnation Racers which is a game I wanted. I'm assuming that Wipeout will satisfy my racing crave.

Not sure whether it has happened to others as well.

wipeout alone is worth 1 year fun...atleast it was to me

Perhaps they are being a bit generous. Still, why should it bother us as customers? I have an EU and JP account so I'll be getting 4 free games. I'm not complaining. I don't buy many games anyway, so these games aren't going to slow down my purchases in any way.

Well while users get some free games, SONY still benefits from the reward program.

1) It may attract many PS3 users to download content from PSN that they may not have downloaded content otherwise.

2) Little big planet, and Modnation Racers ( PSP ) are games which have a lot of additional content that users can purchase.

3) Giving all users a Free Trial of PSN Plus will increase the awareness of this service and may translate into more PSN plus subscribers.

Sony knows what's going to happen, I don't think they care. Most people aren't going to not buy L.A. Noire because they got Infamous for free, they'll most likely have Infamous in their backlog until they hit a drought and just continue to buy new games, if they don't, then they were'nt really interested in my buying those new games anyway.

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.
