Fable and Populous mastermind Peter Molyneux is the video game industry's top developer "hero", according to a poll of his peers.

As reported by USA Today, 9000 developers were asked to name their development hero in a PeekScore survey.

The Lionhead boss came out on top, followed by Nintendo talisman Shigeru Miyamoto and Braid creator Jonathan Blow.

Take a look at the top 10 below, then commence debate. Keep it clean.

I would have expected Miaymoto to come out on top, I dont understand the love for Molyneux. 

you mean the guy who admitted to lying about his games so that his interviews would sound good is what these developers are looking up to? no wonder so many developers are loosing money

I'm not sure what is funnier.  Molyneux at number one or Blow at number three.

Agree. Even if we disregard Shiggy worship, Blow's input has been immaterial compared to Will Wright, and Molyneux has proven deceptive at best...

So, it's a list of the most likable guys and well known guys, not the most talented. I have no idea why Jonathan Blow is on the list, what the hell.

Pete made one of the worst sequels ever, I will not forgive him for Fable 3, he and I are now enemies.

Also, 9000 developers? I thought they all got fired, must be David Jaffe doing repeat votes in different costumes.

Jonathon bow at 3? Is this a joke? Molyneux was good but he hasn't been a factor in a long time.

Anyway, it's bad enough having Molyneux in the top spot, yes. But Jonathan Blow in third place? Above Will Wright, John Carmack and Sid Meier? For creating Braid? Sure, it was a brilliant and thought-provoking game, but it's far from an industry definer like Sim City, Doom or Civilization. Hell, it's had considerably less impact than Populous and Black & White.

Miyamoto should, of course, be on top. I would say John Carmack after him, then Will Wright. Molyneux might bring up the rear of the top ten, at best.
