I really wish people would just upgrade their PCs every 4 to 5 years and let consoles die.. =/ oh well... one could dream.
on-topic: the Wii is successful because the media choose it as their main focus of praise. If it got the negativity that the PS3 and 360 had it would be in last place.
It got that praise due to its appeal with the Wii mote and not a traditional controller.
The average person who was not interested in video games, now can interact with it in a brand new way, turning non-gamers into gamers.
