Forums - Sales Discussion - PS3 tops 360 in Netflix usage

Netflix on PS3 is free? in USA I guess because here in South America we get the shitty mexican netflix which cost like 10$ a month

It's "free" in that there's no extra charge beyond your pre-existing Netflix subscription, something which holds true for every other Netflix-capable device (except the 360? I'm not sure about that one).

So you need to have a gold account to use netflix on 360? you are kidding right?

Edit: I just googled that and GODDAMN thats a rip off netflix should just work with the silver account.

That's pretty surprising to me. I've only used my 360 for Netflix and don't even have the program installed on my PS3.

interesting since there are less PS3 in the US.

But this goes hand in hand with the fact that more PS3's are connected then 360. I dont know the numbers in the US and 360 could be higher there, but yea its interesting.

alot of 360's sold in the US and all around the world have also gone RROD'd

so take that into account

almost all first generation 360's went KABOOOOOOOOOOM

and US was the early adopter of 360 platform

Really? You need to start this BS up again. VAST majority of those RROD were fixed/replaced. And all evidence goes against it having any real impact on active userbase.

The reasons someone posted above seem the most plausible.

only under warranty they were replaced and why do you have things like "X360 will overtake the Playstation 2 in the U.S - 13,203,000 to go!" in your signature?

I'm neither kidding nor asserting. I'm honestly not sure. I remember hearing as far back as 2008 that Silver members couldn't get Netflix on their 360, but I'm not sure if it's still the case.
