Does it matter? Is love purely dependent on sex? Is a homosexual person's love "fake"? If not, why not allow them to do what they want to? Marry?

While I might understand touchy issues like abortion (because it's contended that there's a third party/individual harmed), or even video game bans (it indirectly harms society), I really don't understand the huge fuss about homosexual marriage/civil rights.

The closest thing I hear is that the legalization of homosexual marriage would increase homosexuality and affect, against the will of the parents, children.

The fuss comes from religion where homosexuality is stated as a big no no in texts. Our society is based on said religions. That the only real reason. The term marriage comes with a lot of religious undertones associated with it which is why some feel religion and marriage are connected.

Hmm, pie.

But marriage predates any known religion, and has actually been historically not related to religion at all (it's that way in most cultures).

You mean marriage predates religion (right?) but I understand your point. But sadly for many modern cultures, that historical unrelatedness (bad word) has been lost during the dominance of religion. It's the one of the dominant arguements raised when many peole argue against gay marriage claiming it removes Christian values or such. Might also be the reason why we in the UK call it a 'civil partnership' and not a 'marriage' when in all but the name they are the same.

Actually, it only applies to Christianity (and maybe possibly to Judaism, but I'm not sure). Marriage is separated from religion in most cultures.

(Also, sorry for my mistake)

any real christian wouldnt have a problem with gays, even if they believe it to be a sin.   God never gave them authority to make those choices for other people.  a certain angel didnt feel people should have the right to make such decisions...and hes not in heaven now, is he?

Lucifer's fall happened before people came to be. Also, I don't remember Satan ever trying to surpress people's free will.

Paradise Lost and the Divine Comedy should be canon. We should also get George Lucas and Steven Spielberg to update the world with more CGI.
