Forums - Sony Discussion - Reuters: Expert Finds "Security Flaws in Sony's Networks"

Can't Sony hire some expert of there own, on this matter, because it seems no one knows what there doing when it comes to internet Security. I'm not trying to be negative against sony, but that's what the article suggest to me.

Around the Network

"did not attempt to break in to password-protected sites or exploit any vulnerabilities"

Ah, ok: that explains it all.

Bumgarner concluded to Reuters that "no one should be able to point a web browser at Sony and see a security management console[...]"

Uhm, I'm smelling the odour of a MS bot: only MS servers have a "security management console" (it's a part of MS Forefront Protection), but Sony use Apache servers. It's like someone saying that the start menu of the MACOSX is bad...

Please... why would we believe an "Expert"? >_>

ANyway it seems they used Amazon to hack into the sony: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-05-13/sony-network-said-to-have-been-invaded-by-hackers-using-amazon-com-server.html

if they used a debit card they'll never find them.. >_<"

When is Steam going to get the blame next? LOL.

Surely, the Steam launching on PS3 coincide with the hack must have some daming evidence?

Maybe Gabe is still mad at the PS3 cause PS3 Fanboys drew this:

There is a big difference between not running up to date software and having data available for public browsing that shouldn't be. Both can be true at the same time and the latter is the reason this is taking so long. Updating  a server is far easier than doing a full audit on a system that size.

Interestingly, Sony hasn't really put a strong defense against the accusations that its servers had security flaws.  I'm expecting that real details will come out at some point since there is a FBI investigation, but Sony is being oddly quiet.

Thank god for the disable signatures option.
