I'm quite sure all the things you bolded actually happened with some/all of the Popes. The problem with those TV shows though, is that they tend to be inaccurate, being more influenced by our society, rather than portraying the society where the action is taking place.

Well, it's a lot of rumours and speculation with the Borgias family anyway. They were hated at the time so a lot of slanderous stories were circulated so its difficult to know what's accurate. Worth a watch if you enjoy shows like Rome.

I'm pretty sure some of those stories were true. The truth can be a great weapon against your enemies sometimes, you don't always have to make up lies.

 

And I do intend to play those 2 games when I buy a better PC.

Just shows the hypocrisy that extreme religion almost always goes hand in hand with. This is no different from the many evangelical priests that have been found to be homosexual or sleeping with prostitutes and doing hard drugs etc. The more you idealise a general restriction of your most basic impulses the greater the risk of such hypocrisy.

Quite true. These people are all alike, regardless of what religion they may follow.
