the game was fun, the fluids a great idea, the writing was hysterical but it was waaay to easy.  portal 1 pretty much every puzzle could be solved in several different ways, every surface was portable, and you really had to think.  portal 2 there was almost always only one answer, portable surfaces only appeared where "needed" and half the time there was marks on the ground that screamed "put it here".  i was far too coddled imo.  but overall, good game.

The first half of the game was simple though in the second half there were some stumpers.  Some of those were because I'm just stupid sometimes, others were actually hard.  I heard some of the co-op ones get pretty hard too.

I think the two that gave me the most trouble was White-Out (the one where you had to paint the room) and one of the anti-gravity ones.  The white-out one because I just completely missed the one piece you had to paint and then accidently triggered the success dialogue without solving it (make an infinite portal under the part you're supposed to jump to and it triggers it every time).

The anti-gravity one, man, that one had me stumped for a really long time.  It's the one where you have to send the blue gel down the anti gravity beam through a portal to where it starts and then change the direction of the anti-grav beam and send the gel over the turrets.  That was a mind bending one.

And then there were others that took me a while because I just missed one little thing or I didn't paint something exactly right.

i didn't find white-out hard at all.  the only thing that annoyed me is that the "other" solution is impossible without turning on cheats.  i ought to have been able to built momentum to reach the platform by creating a portal loop but thanks to portal funneling you couldn't.

the anti-gravity did have me stumped for a few minutes but honestly it was the only one in the game for me.  i wish more of the game was that mind bending.

i haven't played the co-op yet.  waiting for psn to come back online.

and frankly that last sentence is exactly what i didn't like.  there was only one solution to be had.  portal 1 pretty much every puzzle had at least 2 ways to solve it.  anyhoo, i still enjoyed it.  i've heard there are some really good user created levels that i'll try out once psn is back online so i'm not disappointed in the game, just not quite as impressed as i could have been.

I need spoilers. Any allusions to Half-Life 2 Episode 3? COME ON PEOPLE!

EDIT: Oh and fuck portal.

Yes.  There is a hidden spot you can get to that is directly related to Episode 3.

Why fuck portal?

It just really annoys me that Valve has decided to sink all their development time into Portal 2 instead of Half-Life 2: Episode 3.

Yup I also just finished it.

Amazing game.

I wasn't expecting the sequel to recreate the awesome atmosphere of the first game but it did just that and perhaps more!

I thought it was a little too easy though.

I agree with everything here, Portal 2 is awesomely awesome but it left me with a bitter taste because the ending song sucked. I was totally expecting a worthy sequel to Still Alive and it ended up being an insult to its memory. Other than that, the game dragged a bit in the middle (the Cave Johnson part), but it's still gonna be prolly the best game I'm gonna play in a long long time

Though I've only heard Want You Gone once, I don't really wanna hear it again

Very true, the cave johnson commentary was actually starting to wear thin alot faster than I expected, clearly the weakest point of the narrative, but it still wasn't too bad compared to most games, it's just that I thought wheatley and glados were so much funnier that Johnson came off a bit too dry, imho.

This too, but I imagine you played through the first one and maybe even multiple times as I did.  This does make the game easier because you've already wrapped your brain around the basic mechanics so you know where to look and what to look for, versus new players who have never played portal before, they have to create an entirely different mindset to wrap their brains around the basic mechanics while also dealing with the new equipment and gels.  But I agree, I found it just a little bit too easy.

I think GLaDOS was by far the weakest point of the narrative and Cave the strongest, with Wheatley in the middle. I was actually quite disappointed with GLaDOS's dialogue overall, I expected it to be much stronger, like it was in the first game.

To each their own.
