My money is on new HW that is cheaper to manufacture (hence the new serial numbers, thus bringing the price down to $200, or $250 with Move bundled in. Backing this up are the new serial numbers and the timing, but also SONY's increase in their forecast again for this year.

TOP 12: Deus Ex, Shadow Man, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturn, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Metroid Prime, Zelda (series), Uncharted (series), FF Tactics, Persona (series), Demons Souls, Vagrant Story.

MOST WANTED: Deus Ex: Human Revolution, The Last Guardian, ICO/Shadow OTC HD

Back on topic, definitely wait a bit, at least for the news to confirm what these new models really are. I would be really disappointed if it were me and I rushed in to only find out that a better/cheaper model has arrived.

Can they afford to sell the system at that price?

A little wishful thinking:

Sony recently purchased back the Cell processing plant from Toshiba. There is a newer more powerful version of the Cell processor available. I think the PS3 is the only thing that is currently using the older Cell technology, maybe it would be more cost effective to phase out the old Cell and start using the newer one in the PS3. It would offer a significant increase in power.

interesting, but what differences could they make which they have already done for the PS3 slim, it is going to be the PS3 extra slim. It could be something small.

Also they should be building in PS3 into there bravia TV's.

Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong

Some of the Toshiba models use the Cell

If there is a price cut it wont be announced at E3 just like in 2009 and besides $200 ps3 would be overkill.

Isn't there one more CELL/RSX revision pending? I mean assuming there is, and they are due, then Sony can certainly make a new slimmer model, however i doubt it would be profitable at $200. I'm gonna go with a new slimmer model at $250.

Can you explain?

Bigger hard-drive would be differentiated by having another letter at the end like D or E. There will be a big difference, and I'm willing to bet you that.
