10. fun game. great story, diverse missions. and people are lazy yo jhon, i myself hate posting in your threads :P it takes effort.

Lol I think everyone is like that a bit...I know there are a lot of threads that i'm too lazy to post in.

But remember there's always a motive lol, whether it be increasing your post count, Vgchartz points, or trying to get 800 ms points or a $10 PSN card!

meh. a 10 dollar card isnt worth my effort. also considering psn is down its useless :P

Being in 3rd place never felt so good

10 using this out of 5 plus 5 average non-sense. No offense meant, but I dislike high average scores and this is the first I remember noting it in one of these threads.

The reasons are fairly obvious. The insane level of polish, and wonderful commitment to online. The game is balanced far differently than release, and has a lot of new stuff to try out in the form of maps and the like. Almost all of the user complaints about "b.net 2.0" (actually more like 4 or 5 but whatever) have been addressed to the best of my knowledge. Admittedly it is hard for me to say as I thought most of them seemed a little silly save for cross regional play. Correction, the cross regional play might not be in come to think of it. I am too lazy to check.

The story was told amazingly well for a RTS, and was quit satisfying on the whole. The pacing was amazing and the use of cut scenes perfect. The game kept a nice diversity to the missions, and I truly loved how they introduced new units. The ability to stop banging my head against a wall and try to recruit a better unit for a hard mission is a very nice touch.

I truly love this game and can't wait for a sequel. If I wasn't such a wuss about losing I would probably be playing online still. I just don't get that much enjoyment out of getting my nuts stomped, or those never ending TvT matches. I still kind of wish I could have gotten a 4v4 team going just for the fun of it. Sure we would lose, but we could lose with style!

I believe LAN is the only thing that hasn't been addressed. But seriously. Who has 4 PCs that can run SC2? Everything else has been addressed.

I would like to ammend my statement to say LAN support is also valid. Blizzard has gone to great lengths to make it a non-issue though as I recall. Specifically I think once you validate through online there is minimal contact between the clients and the sever and everything is just done between the clients save achievement stuff.

I'll go with 9.8.

Just because I didn't get the chance to enjoy it as much as SC: Brood War. Not because the game isn't better but because my amount of free time available as decreased greatly in the last 13 years.

Still the game is incredible, the single player campaign was very captivating and the missions had a great variety. The multiplayer is well balanced (although I personally suck at playing Zerg) and I love watching pro matches on YouTube.

Signature goes here!

10/10

Spent the most time on it of any game, and watch all the big tournaments.

Lack of LAN has screwed up a lot of live tournaments. Bnet has gone down at some point for most of the GSLs, and issues have plagued MLG and IEM.

Id give it a 9.8. the only reason it isnt 10 is because i refuse to ever give a game a 10 :P

I have spent countless hours playig gthr multiplayer which lets be honest is what its all about.

Yeah i know my spelling sucks but im dysgraphic so live with it :3

7.5.

And yes, I know I wrote the review that gave it 8.9, but to hell with it. This doesn't deserve to make it into that top 12, even if that top 12 is full of crazily overrated titles. As a sequel to one of the best games ever made it's a huge disappointment. Blizzard have lost their golden touch for me. I'm extremely worried about Diablo III now.

I personally belive its surpasses cs1 in almost every way. the only problem i can possibly think of that could make it any less than perfect is the ack on LAN play.

Now that seems odd to me. There was a promise from Blizzard to set-up hardware on site of big tournaments to be able to avoid any internet connection. Has that not happened, or did they change their mind?

Just never happened. Tournament officials have been saying they're not getting much of a response from Blizzard at all.

I speculate that Blizz are worried that a 'LAN build' of SC2 would leak - and it would only have to happen once for pirated multiplayer to be accessible.
