Red Dead Redemption shoots GTA IV to bits.

Red Dead Redemption all the way!

RDR the other wasnt so great.

RDR, the characters are way more likable and the storyline is much much better.

There also aren't enough good western-based games in the videogame industry.

red dead, but the ending still sucked balls

did you unlock the real ending? because I thought it was great, sad, but great

there is only one ending lol...and after missions which i did complete. It sucked

*spoileralert*

Technically yes, but for me I was at least fooled, I thought I had finished the game, but I did not. i didn't know you get to avenge your fathers death. (Play as Marstons son)

RDR is better. even mafia 2 is better than IV

They could have found a better reason for him to die -_-..he died for nothing

RDR. Loved everything about the game. The setting totallty made everything in RDR twice as enjoyable

I prefer GTA IV. I'm not really a fan of Westerns, and while I think RDR did a good job capturing the feel of that setting, I still found the setting boring. I did not like the ending of the game (I think if it was going to make you control the character you should have some choice of what to do), and I didn't think the different plots/characters tied together well. Also, at least imo RDR has more pop-in, which is the technical flaw that bothers me the most.

I think the amount of content, more unique/layered characters, and greater variety of gameplay makes GTA IV the better game. Although the only previous GTA experience I had was with Chinatown Wars, and a little bit of Vice City.

As far as I'm concerned that was the best way out, the feds wanted him dead and he wasn't going to get out of there alive, why not go out guns ablazing and die like a true cowboy before they got to use his family as bargaining chips. I was touched, sad, angry and that was proabably one of the best endings this generation, slightly overshadowed by MGS4, but definitely epic.

When an ending makes you feel such a combination of emotions, I'd say thats a success, it did what it was meant to do.

I was never a GTA fan, but I picked up IV and gave it my best...

Technically, GTA IV was a joke to me. By the time I picked it up (still before RDR's launch), I was cringing all the time while playing. When I eventually got used to the horrendous visuals (Oh, PS3 btw), then I tried to get stuck in the game. The first shocking thing was how the cars handled. I just got so little entertainment out of the game that I sold it after 4 hours of gameplay. It was really that bad.

When RDR came out to the same critical acclaim as GTA IV, I was obviously a little apprehensive. This is just like GTA but in the desert right? I don't know what difference it made that I played the 360 version, but I have to say that it was a stunningly gorgeous game. Just one thing, EVERYONE who isn't a total wuss MUST turn auto-aim off! The shooting mechanics are really cool and I loved the horse riding. There were some minor bugs and it didn't end up being the 10/10 game everyone said for me, but it was still a 9.5/10 game

Read Dead Redemption by a country mile.
