um theres an update - "Sony Online Entertainment has issued a notification assuring customers that current credit card information has not been compromised. "There is no evidence..."

I don't think the Sgt. Schultz defense is going to work any more.

Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.

Anyone thinks it could be an inside job? cause SOE had some heavy layoffs in March... some of them could have access to the servers... >_>

- edit - ow there are 2 threads about this, i wonderd were my post went -

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

They've got to be fucking kidding me.  I've been angry with the PSN hack but it wasn't some unforgiveable thing (though 30 free days of a service I don't want didn't do anything to help, it's more of an insult) but now, if true, I'm about done with Sony with gen.

I was going to continue buying their games and even multi-plats that are better on their system and I was leaning more towards buying an NGP but if true every multi-plat with be on the 360, the NGP is out of the question, and I'm simply borrowing (not even renting) exclusives.

Way to have a meltdown.

As I said in the other thread, this wasn't a second attack.  This was part of the first attack, only it wasn't until yesterday that SOE had become aware that they had also been hit.

Also, I'm not sure why people are giving Sony so much shit over this.  The attack was so severe the FBI and Homeland Security have gotten involved.  You're going to stop buying their products because some really damn good hackers decided Sony was their next target?

The funny thing about sony being accused over this stuff is the assumptions made by people that other networks are guaranteed to be more secure.

If proper maintenance is made to the other networks, then yes, they would be more secure than Sony's.

Sony's had proper maintenance so no, you are just assuming again
