Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Developers that Nintendo needs to buy (UPDATED added new devs)

With the Wii U on the horizon, I think it is time for Nintendo to bolster their first party power, by buying out smaller devs. The last major purchase Nintendo made was Minolith Soft. This is a list of developers that I think Nintendo should buy out, and why they should buy them.

1. Rare

Why?: 'cause, their talent is Rare!

2. Headstrong Games

Why?: Headstong Game has shown that they can make creative, and innovative titles. They can also make games in genres that Nintendo can't (House of The Dead). They have a decet ense of craftmanship, and a lot of talent under the hood. I would like to see what Nintendo and Headstrong come up with together.

3. Treasure

Why?: Treasure, games seem like the kind that Nintendo would like. Tanabe said that they need someone with a sense of craftmanship, and Treasure has just that. They make unique, and polished games, and would make a good addition to Nintendo's group of studios.

4. Crytek UK (Free Radical Design)

Crytek UK is mostly made up of mostly ex-Free Radicals, who all used to work at Rare. The rest speaks for itself.

Others:

Arika

Vicarious Visons

n-Space

5th Cell

Studios I named before

 Monster Games

Silicon Knights

Yoshio Sakamoto

Next Level Games

Q-Games

Grasshopper Manufacture

Next Level Games

Media Molecule (Yes, I'm serious, and too bad it will never happen)

Around the Network

Still going with EA. They are hemmoraging money, Nintendo could get loads of new IPs, and Nintendo could keep the expenses in check.

And anyone at the company that doesn't want to work on the Wii would either be a fool in the economy, or just deal with the other systems (but still be brats, as they are putting their wants above the customers and the company).

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

Activision- infinity ward

As long as it isn't a company I like they can go ahead and buy them.

I am still mad at them for buying Monolith and not bringing their games overseas. Soma Bringer is so awesome.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

The alternative being Bandai-Namco. Do you *really* think that would have been better?

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Around the Network

Rare: They've been in decline for years so I don't see Nintendo getting them. Plus MS owns them

Monster Games: Reasonable idea since they've been working with Nintendo for years

Silicon Knights: Again, they've just gone to hell, mostly due to Dyack's hubris. Too Human was better left dead.

Sakamoto: I would like to see him on more projects

Q-Games: Can't argue there

Grasshopper: Might be a little too crazy for Nintendo...and that's saying something

Next Level: Yes, their new Punch-Out!!! was GREAT

Kuju: Maybe

This...Kinda

As long as its not a JRPG developer its its fine.

They have a habit of comissioning JRPGs and not bringing them stateside

I cant belive a JRPG game made bythe legendary Hironobo Sagaguchi is taking this long to get here. If this was any other publisher it would of been here day and date...or  at least close

I don't know about you but I clearly remember actually getting to play Monolith titles on my PS2.

That was last-gen Namco (and pre-merger). Likely Monolith would've been set on this course either way

At least Xenoblade will probably make it

I hope it does, but I wish it was turn based.

I LOVE turn based.
