3. Software drives hardware and the 3DS definitely has the software but not at the moment. Be patient.

4. Once Pokemon(main series) makes its way to the 3DS, sales will explode worldwide.


So instead of saying the 3DS is doomed, how about waiting until these games come out before you talk.

Oh and one last thing.  If Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker can sell over a million copies on the most pirated console, Metal Gear Solid The Naked Sample will easily do the same for the 3DS. Metal Gear, Mario, and Zelda are all system Sellers.  Not Nintendogs, Super Street Fighter IV, or Raving Rabbids.

1. Do you seriously expect Zelda OOT 3D to sell hardware? Or Paper Mario? Seriously? The only game you said that will help move hardware is Mario Kart. The other might give a very small lift for the week, mainly in Japan, but that's it.

2. I'm pretty sure that it is because they KNOW that it is just a DS with 3D  and some better graphics is that they won't get it.

3. See 1.

4. Yeah. We just need to wait until 2014, as Pokémon mainline games come take 3-4 years to make.

I fail to understand how this undooms the 3DS.

Well many of us are waiting for Zelda so what do you call that?

Beuli2 what games would you like to see on the 3DS since you've said none of the games beening released will be successful. For me I really don't understand all this anger at port games especally if they're well made ports like OoT: 3D or StarFox: 3D. Sure they aren't system sellers but every good game has a chance to attract more and more people to the system espesally if its a game that has never been on a nintendo system before. There are plenty of ported games that I've never play(Tales of the Abyss, MGS3, Shin Megami Tensei) and there are a number of exclusives coming out that I'm also excited about(Mario Kart, Super Mario, Professor Layton, Kid Icarus, Dead or Alive, Resident Evil: Revalations, Mega Man Legends, Kingdom Hearts, Beyond the Labyrinth), so for me it doesn't matter if the 3DS sells less than the DS as long as good games get released.

Well i read your thread, and yes I agree with you on some things, but not entirely.  The 3DS will probably not sell more than the DS week in and week out.  But it doens't have to because  the DS is not its competition.  However, the 3DS will outsell the DS everytime it has a new big game.  Also the 3DS should sell a lot more during holidays so yes I believe the 3DS will outsell it barely or lose barely.

Once all the big name games start to release the 3DS will sell like hotcakes. It's just that everyone is waiting for the big games to come out before they go shell out $250.
