whaaaaaa hackers were involved??? since when son O_o

Since always? Do you understand anything about what is going on here? I don't mean to sound that harsh, but you are talking about this a whole lot, and seem surprised by the most basic fact of the situation. It is akin to being surprised Sony was involved in this at this stage.

With their Music CD, yes.

The breach sounds like it's more serious than what they let people know of.

The simple fact the breach occured is serious, to gain access to user data is extremely serious and based off SONY's comments the attacks originated from there own data centre (they are moving to a new data centre to increase physical security, which they only decided to do after learning how the breach occured which suggests someone broke into there data centre to conduct the attack). As such it was clearly organised crime, not some disgruntled hackers trying to mess with SONY and it must of been planned a while ago.

I am not sure why they bother. Don't they know already that its Sony's fault that the hack has taken place? Meh just put Sony under arrest and fine them a couple tens of billion dollars and everything will be fine.

I am sure it's not the bank's fault neither if your money got stolen from your account.

Banks and credit bureaus are federally insured, meaning credit fraud cases, same as an old fashioned bank robbery with a ski mask and a handgun, are covered by the fed. Essentially, they foot the bill on credit fraud when they pay off the insurance claim which is why the FBI investigates major cases such as this.

Not sure why Homeland Security is involved unless it's suspected that the attack came from outside of the US.
