IGN won't be naming their GoTY until Jan 11th, but they have already posted the GoTY for each individual console along with a whole bunch of other awards.

GoTY Contenders

Wii - Super Mario Galaxy

PS3 - Uncharted: Drake's Fortune

360 - Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare 

PC - Bioshock

PSP - Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow

DS - The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass

There you have it, the IGN 2007 GoTY will be (or least one would think it would be) one of those games.

I couldn't see it being Bioshock or COD4 since they didn't win all of their platforms.

Or a DS or PSP game.

So it's between Uncharted and SMG if you ask me. As much as SMG is the favorite in that matchup. I say Uncharted steals the win in this one. (though it's been rumored that it was leaked that SMG wins.)

Ok some obviously won't agree but I think that the way this is set up right now the 360 cannot have the GoTY award from IGN. Bioshock and CoD4 were imo both better games on the PC version than the 360 (sorry they just were, and yes I have played both games on the PC and on the 360), dual analogue is just a crap way to aim and I don't think that will ever change.

So if they think Bioshock was the better of the two for the PC, and if CoD4(360) is not as good as CoD4(PC) then you can easily conclude that you cannot logically give the award to the 360's version of CoD4.

That reasoning is also sound, but I suppose both of our reasonings assume a certain level of logic goes into the process...which may be a bit too hasty.

I think its a surprise theres no exclusive chosen for 360's game of the year. No Mass effect or Bioshock? I mean console exclusive of course.

I think Mass Effect, Ratchet and Clank or MP3: Corruption could go up for GoTY contenders as well!

uncharted got a 9.1 on IGN!! there's no way that it will be game of the year!! it's hard to believe it but the psp actually has a game that's mentioned about! usually, game sites give the game of the year to the highest rated game on their site. bioshock and galaxy both have 9.7!! it's mainly between them. (call of duty 4 got a 9.5.)

Damn things have changed since 2009 began. Here are my new visions for the end of the generation.

 

Wii: 135 mil

Ps3: 85 mil

360: 60 mil
