Sorry, yeah. I meant Soccer. Being British forces me to refer to it as football hooliganism

Other than making me know that someone wants leo-j to die.

Its tought me that owning wii is good.

 2008 end of year predictions:

PS3: 22M

360: 25M

wii: 40M

ok man

''Hadouken!''

Wii rocks.

The PS3 and 360 do have their strengths, this site has let me realize that, but those strengths aren't something that are really at the top of my priority list right now.

So still a Wii fan, but I've enjoyed working on giving the most rational arguments possible despite my preference towards nintendo.

Seppukuties is like LBP Lite, on crack. Play it already!

Currently wrapped up in: Half Life, Portal, and User Created Source Mods
Games I want: (Wii)Mario Kart, Okami, Bully, Conduit,  No More Heroes 2 (GC) Eternal Darkness, Killer7, (PS2) Ico, God of War1&2, Legacy of Kain: SR2&Defiance

My Prediction: Wii will be achieve 48% market share by the end of 2008, and will achieve 50% by the end of june of 09. Prediction Failed.

I'm a fanboy and proud of it too.

I don't see anything wrong with fanboyism. To me the industry is a little bit like a sport and Nintendo are simply my team. I love and support them, because I believe in their track record, products and ideals. I also give them the benefit of the doubt, take a shady view of the competitors and generally put a positive spin on them - just as most sports fans would. But I also get angry at them when they clearly do something wrong (or counter to my likes), and recognize the others' positive achievements - just as a sports fan would.

your analogy with sports isn't really right though cuz you miss two important points that makes being a fan of a sport club less stupid than being a gaming fanboy,
and point 1 is that the major part of sports fans are bound to their team bacause of where they live
of course someone from miami is for the miami heat and someone from new york for the yankees or someone from chicago for the bulls

so there is a natural connection with those clubs

and the second point is,
most sport fans respect other clubs, of course they'll talk bad bout them once in a while for fun,
but it's not comparable with how gaming fanboys talk about some companies and consoles

and there is one more thing
if your club wins, they bring the cup with them to your city, and everyone parties and you will feel that you and your friends have won and not just the players but the whole city is honored

but if nintendo sells well.. are you going to japan to celebrate?
do they come to you?
what do you win?

The best part about this site is that there is some moderator action.

Too many usenet groups/news groups/message boards/forums become bad because people let their fingers get ahead of their minds --or worse, they have limited minds but unlimited typing skills.

People here who do things like that too often or too improperly actually get disciplined (banned) -- some for a few days, some for a lifetime.

Thus, most people here will listen to reasoned discussion and sometimes even troll-bait attempts lead to very good virtual conversations.

It is the first forum that I have found in a long time where I felt it was worth my while to participate.

PS-- Now if you want fanboyism, just get me talking about my Intellivision and how the Colecovision was a big rip off of it.

I am Mario.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

wasn't that you when you first signed up?  hmmm....

I guess that proves that all "fan boys" are wrong. ALL CONSOLES ARE EQUAL!!!

Haha, with a name like Ajax I guess you are going to be a big football fan. Being a football fan is different, if a console had nothing but bad games I would stop playing it, but if the mighty Aston Villa (my fav club) got relegated 4 seasons in a row I would still go the games and wear the shirt. Also when your club wins the champions league or the premiership, everyone feels as though they accomoplished it.

I would liken fanboyism to hardcore music taste, I like metal but don't like R&B (the new R&B not the old one)

There is no-one in this world in their right mind who could say they wouldn't want all three consoles, I mean it would be fantastic wouldn't it?
