In japan it seems that the PSP and PS3 have a variety of colors for buyers to choose from such as white and black for PS3. Even in the PS2 era Sony released only black for NA but many colors in Japan. Why doesn't sony want to release their systems in many colors here in the U.S.? Im pretty sure sales would increase if people could own a red, white, blue, etc PS3.

great question. i own an original 60 gig. i have been thinking about upgrading to a slim, maybe a choice in color would push me to go ahead and buy a new one.
