I AM SORRY BRO DID NOT READ IT

Around the Network

8.7

Overall a solid fps.  I just wish the multiplayer had more than 3 modes (maybe add free for all, CTF, etc. etc.)  Take away the ammo refill animation for multiplayer.  And i dont know if it's just me but I always have like a 1-2 sec lag in MP... I kill a player, reload and while I'm reloading, boom i get my points and i see them fall.  (keep in mind I play a lot of MP games and have no lag so it is not my connection)

Really liked the game and currently waiting for psn to come back up so i can play a bit more before i move on to brink or something else :)

Pro's

-  Amazing stunning visuals.  The jungle level is the most beautiful environment I've ever seen a game.

-  Fantastic gunplay with tight controls.

-  Great atmostphere, and sound design.

-  Very good multiplayer for the most part but with a few complaints ( see below )

Con's

-  Story still needs work.  The last third of the game from a story perspective felt rushed and somewhat shallow

-  Multiplayer could be deeper.  What's there is really fun but really you've only got 3 modes and a fairly small selection of maps.  Even upgrading classes only consists of 3 weapon unlocks and a few abilities.

Overall:  A fantastic 9.4

9.9999

pros:

best graphics ever by a good bit

brutal melees

thrilling campaign

veried and fun gameplay

best online of this gen

sound effects are top notch (especially the jetpacks)

jetpack

perfect move support (1.86 KDR and rising bc of it)

i actually cared about the characters, sev was cool

i liked the story

did i mention perfect online

cons:

the story jumps around a little

no splitscreen botzone, they need to patch this in

weird random dialog gets cut off (rare and only at begining of the game

jammer (luckily she played only a small role and at the end, so the game ended before it would have got bad)

10/10 due to the fact that many people downplay this game. I am absolutely addicted to the MP and I've completed the SP twice, and on a third run with my mate on Elite.

Love the improvements GG has done and their continued support is highly valued amongst me.

Fantastic visuals (the jungle level simply looks stunning), improved controls, so much things going on at once (I love that) and a very good story. But I have to say that the ending felt rushed and with a little more time GG could have made a better ending. I also didn't really play the mp for more than 3-4 hours, but I'm losing interest in mp games/modes overall more and more. I mainly rate games for their sp, so that I didn't like the mp very much doesn't worsen KZ3's score.

Score: 9.2

2012 - Top 3 [so far]

                                                                             #1                                       #2                                      #3

8.0

Pro's:

- Looks stunning, runs great and has an interesting art design that is rarely seen in other military shooters.

- Sounds great, the score was really and the actual quality is top notch.

- Melee is really cool, I enjoyed stealthing guys and it was just a fun extra feature.

- Fun to play, I don't know what it is, but shooting in Killzone feels amazing. In other games, it feels like I'm shooting a peashooter (Reach, Black Ops, Medal of Honour), but with Killzone, I feel the force of every shotgun blast, of every explosion and every bullet that passes through my assault rifle.

- Level design is great, a lot more open than the previous game and it some really interesting levels, especially later on in the campaign.

Con's:

- Way too many on rail sections, they should have had more of the mech sections, now that was fun.

- I like the Helghast much more thant I like the ISA, hated playing as them, they should have just flipped the whole thing and got me to play as a young Helghast who is relectant to fight in this war, but not wanting to disappoint his father was a top priority and he would do what ever it took to make him proud.

- Plot jumps, it's annoying.

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

I would absolutely rate Killzone 2 a 10 because it was a game unlike any other and kept me occupied for roughly 350 hours.

Sadly Killzone 3 is only half the game Killzone 2 is, so I was very dissappointed with Guerilla.

The bad:

-a departure for KZ2 dark atmosphere and art style.

-graphics are pretty much on the same level, though there are some rougher edges. And again the art style is less appealing.

-a story that I only fully understood after playing it 3 times, not because it was so intelligently shaped, but because the last part was cheap and rushed.

-they pretty much ruined the Warzone mode by having either too big maps or maps that where designed with Operations in mind and adding the gimmicky "vehicles" and mortar beacon shit. Removing spawn grenades andsquad spawning really removed a lot of the tactical aspects.

-because Warzone used to be a nice tactical mode with good map designs is was perfect for clan matches. KZ2 has a really great implementation of a clan system.

-they removed ranked custom games and server lists and proudly announced a new "team deathmatch" mode that really was already present in KZ2.

-the gimmicky melee system in multiplayer and reduced health that's fully regeneratable.

-unbalanced classes with invisible "snipers" with assault rifles, wallhack abilities for the tactician, easily destroyed turrets for the enigeer that shoot rockets, a medic that is difficult to use because people can spawn in 5 sec.

Really the game feels rushed as a whole and lacks in features. With the beta/demo just before launch the game really wasn't ready yet. Also they managed to remove features that were fought for during KZ2's time and that eventually got patched in. And they claim to listen to their users, well they went in the completely wrong direction anyway.

The good:

-Co-op.

-Rico is more fleshed out.

-there's some humour in there sometimes. helghast high command make me laugh because they look like nazis.

-Operations mode is pretty cool.

Anyway my score is: 5

8/10----It loses a few points for lacking all the online features, from the previous game. I also thought the story was some what of a jumbled mess, but everything else was great about it.

Playing Killzone 3 was deja vu all over again. When I got KZ2 along with my new console, I was aware of the claims of its graphical supremacy and the high ratings it was getting. As in the case of KZ2, the expectations haven't quite been met.

Killzone 3 holds nothing more than mundane, by the number gaming for a non-fps enthusiast. As far as fps games go, it competes strongly with the best. As a game by itself, I feel it falls rather flat.

The campaign holds some special moments. The jetpack levels with the incredibly rendered snow environments will raise a few eyebrows and certainly impress the friends. Variety is introduced by controlling gattling-guns on moving vehicles, driving certain vehicles, or even the control of a mech in addition with the jet-packing mentioned above.

It's over all too soon though. The standard 8-hour campaigns of today are merely a supplement to the online component of the game. That said, the story of the campaign mode leaves a rather bitter taste in the mouth as the elevated levels of emotive story telling reached in games like Uncharted are never challenged in the least.

The controlls are a hot debate. As with all things in life though, they are subjective. Personally I haven't nearly reached the level of comfort, control and precision I have reached in Halo, Bioshock and Resistance. In Resistance 2 I am able to pull off phenomenal head shots with a sniper rifle at times, but sniping in KZ3 seems clunky and slow. The same principle applies to all the longer ranged weopens.

In terms of continuity and flow, things tend to feel broken up and there are various instances where the sound and music just stops or starts abruptly. This irritates me about many games and I wonder if some designers just don't know/notice this. Portal 2 is another example of a 'non-smooth ride' so to speak. Even the new addition of brutal melee seems to break up the action. It doesn't feel organic enough.

While everyone praises the graphics, I haven't been overly impressed. I don't like jaggies at all. I prefer a smooth game with no pop-in or flickering. Thus KZ3 isn't exactly my taste of visual flare. I am very happy that the grey/brown monotone doesn't apply as it did in KZ2. The characters are modeled very nicely however, and there is an insane amount of detail in some environments. Overall the graphics are of a very high standard, but a few irritating niggles hold it back.

The online is polished, but with SO many fps games fighting for your time, it doesn't really stand out or scream ESSENTIAL in the way KZ2 might have when it launched early in the PS3's lifetime.
