As of last weeks numbers it's only down about 290k, about 8%. A negligible decline that can be erased in just 2-3 weeks of a price cut.

Sigh.... Too bad for 3DS. Good thing for PS3.

I noticed PS3, 360, and PSP were both adjusted up for at least 2 months back, and the DS, 3DS, and Wii were slightly adjusted down. This puts 360 at a solid second for home console sales. PS3 got a larger adjustement then 360, but this may imply further adjustments in Americas in which 360 is likely to favor over PS3. Let's wait and see WW data.

This is the exact problem.  I work for Gamestop and when I mention the 3DS to most consumers they say they just bought a DS and aren't really worried about having a 3D version of the same thing.

Nintendo did a horrible job of marketing the device and they should have changed the name to reflect it being a true successor and not just another DS redisign. They also should have given it a different look as well to tell the difference between the two.

As a whole most people don't realize the 3DS is an entirely new system and instead think its Nintendo just further adding more DS version like the DSi and XL.  Horrible job on Nintendo for the marketing of this system.

PS3 is just killing it in EMEAA and the GAP is now 3.5m and shrinking!

KZ3 and LBP2 is also holding quite well.
