i agree an eariler price cut (hope in june at E3) will definitely help the PS3 to being up YOY.

well, Nintencats is released, so that's a little bit worrysome..

that and probably brain age (which has been done to death) in my opinion won't be nowhere near the enormous system sellers they were for the NDS, so Nintendo has to come up with replacements in order to reach the heights the DS has seen with the 3DS

i need to make something clear about Socom 4's numbers in EMEAA........i live in the middle east,in a city called Riyadh in saudi arabia & before the release of socom 4 i found copies of the american edition of the game being imported in all of the shops here & saw ppl going crazy for it 3 days before the psn was down & me with a hardcore friend also bought the american edition coz it was the only edition there & also because it has the Resistance 3 beta sticker on it........so maybe this trend happened in other territories in Eurupe which had something to do with the numbers being so low?!

It's too damn funny when a Nintendo system is down, these topics get lots of posts. When they are up, they are almost dead. Interesting .

I have to say I find the fact that PS3 is up YoY as a whole in 2011 in EMEAA mindblowing. I mean, last year it had just had a pricecut. I guess people are starting to really see the value of PS3, I'm really glad. It is almost flat YoY WW, too. Another pricecut this fall would do wonders for the system.

About the 3DS, I agree with comments that people think it's just a 3D version of the regular DS. My girlfriend couldn't tell the difference, she thought it was the same system (with the same games) with 3D added in. I still think 3DS will be fine in the long run, though.

It says that the 3D FEATURE SHOULD NOT be use by children under whatever...not the console.

Anyhow I get your point, just clearing up the facts and I believe there is some truth in what you stated.

The thing is anyone under 6 I wouldnt let them play with it just in case they accidently turn the 3D on... its not worth the risk

See? DS with better software overall and without competition was doing worse.

It had a different brand from GBA, it was marketed better than 3DS and it was sold at a smaller price. And was being outsold 2:1 by a 5 year old console.

The expectation of Nintendo and, generally, people were too high, it's doing fine from the beginning to now.
