Well first of all, yes Project café is the real codename that Nintendo is using, how can we know that? Well the Warioworld site (it's NIntendo's official site for developers) has the next link:

Now the site works with the name Wii and other nintendo related names but any other word'll direct you to a 404 page.

With that said, the next rumor is that Retro's next titles is not Eternal darknes ... but Donkey Kong Return 2

From back chatter we hear, developers Retro Studios in Texas (who have worked with Nintendo on a variety of titles like the Metroid Trilogy and the Donkey Kong Returns for Wii) apparently already have a Wii2 development kit and have been hard at work for some time on a showcase title for the Wii2. The showcase title for the Wii2 that they are said to be developing is a sequel for Donkey Kong Country Returns.

Sources tell us that the project has been in development for some time, but has only recently switched its focus to the new Wii2 from the original Wii.

Donkey Kong Country Returns 2 as a launch title will make me and a lot of old school Nintendo fans very happy.

Even though DCKR 2 as a launch title for the Wii 2 would be incredibly awesome, I would much rather see a new IP from them. I think I remember reading that they've been working on a different game during development of DCKR... (shrugs) ?
