Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Your impressions of Conduit 2

@vlad  thats very true, but couldnt you say the something similar about motion controls?? the time it takes to move around will always be slower, because you have to take the time to move your rectile to what ever side you need, with sticks the movement is instant, but aiming suffers. K/M>>everything else

No.....telepathic powers >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> greater everything else. Then movement time is equal to reaction time :P

When I say shooters don't work on the Wii, it's not because of the controls, oh no, the controls are great. It's because Nintendo doesn't publish any FPS's other then Metroid Prime, which is technically a First Person Adventure game. Third Party software hasn't seen very many polished FPS's on the Wii.

It's the developers fault, not the console. Yes Red Steel 2 is pretty good, but what else is there? Conduit 1 and 2 generally got 7.5-8/10 scores. How many PS3/360 shooters come out every year that get that rating? Already this year there is Dead Space 2, Homefront, Crysis 2, Killzone 3, and BulletStorm, and I've very excited about Uncharted 3, Gears 3, Mass Effect 3, L.A. Noire, Duke Nukem, and Resistance 3.

I have to agree here.  While I'm enjoying Conduit 2, really the only Wii FPS (aside from Metroid) that's worth getting over HD comparibles would be Goldeneye.  It's top notch single and multi-player and the split-screen is a ton of fun.

Conduit 2 is fun, worth renting just to see what is possible on Wii graphically/online mulitplayer wise.  But I couldn't advise to buy it over Portal 2 or Gears 3 or ME3 or such.

If you only own a Wii (like myself now) and are sick of Goldeneye/CoD then for sure - pick it up!

Goldeneye is a port, so really Wii only has Metroid Prime 3, and arguably Red Steel 2. Wii is better for platformers, I want Pikmin 3!

Goldeneye a port? How so? It has the same name as an older game..yes..but the levels, weapons, and overall design of the game isnt the same. The style you can play isnt like the orginal..It was a hell of a lot better then that port of Perfect Dark for the xbox. Sorry but now i just consider you trolling.

..and sadly this topic has completely derailed...

This proves you haven't played it.

I have, and except for a couple new levels, and a slight boost in graphics, the game is no different then the N64 version. In this generation, we need more then that to justify a $60 purchase on a 15 year old game. Quantum of Solice for PS3/360 was much better IMO.

@Raptor GTA - How is the design of the game different? The levels and weapons are identical, I see minimal graphical improvement in the game. Except for the use of Wii-Mote controls, this is a redesigned port.

It's not an identical port, it's still a remake, just like Super Mario 64 DS, but I would hardly classify this game as a new FPS experience on the Wii. Only mentioned it as a port because it's not new, and further agrees with my notion of Wii-based FPS not working because developers are too lazy. I mean how hard would it be to see one developer, other then Nintendo, make a new FPS exclusive experience, as good as Vanquish, or Dead Space? How many more FPS do 360/PS3 owners get? I saw more this year so far then Wii lifetime.

Not trolling, defending a point, and your right it has derailed, so I'll stop.

You're either lying, or didn't even pay attention to the game. And you even got the price wrong, unless that's a typo.

This is the same BS line said about Mario Kart DS being a port (no one said of which MK game though) and NSMBWii being a multiplayer port of NSMB.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Pointing takes the edge simply because if the object is already on the screen it has the delay of the person, like a mouse, and unlike an analog. Scrolling across though is the same as an analog. Basically analogs come in dead last when it comes to first person games.

@vlad if im shooting at some guy to my right and there is someone off screen shooting to my left i have to move my cursor all the way to the edgt and then it starts to turn. THe analog is the head of the avatar is moving toward the left idmediately, for movement, ive found sticks are better. However it depends on the dev and what game. GE is great but they could have done more with the motion. I dont even use motion controls online cause it is always getting stuck and is glitchy, its not me because i dont have that much issues offline. However Killzone 3 really nails it. best implemention of motion controls in a FPS yet, there is still a slight delay in movement, hell i havent used the dualshock for that game yey

@lordtheknight  the NSMB comment is just wrong, but Mario Kart DS is more like a compilation of older tracks, which IMO is corny as hell. THere are some Double Dash stages that i know are old in their

@mike 5 you know there is a difference between a port and a remake???

Mario Kart DS has the same new content:old content ratio as Mario Kart Wii, and was quite frankly one of the better selling points of the game, as you could enjoy some of the older tracks without some of the older games' problems

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Change the shape of the bounding box and you get immediate camera movement just like analog.   Most FPS game son Wii allow you to change this setting.

The rEVOLution is not being televised

^^^i dont know about that, i liked the two man kart element if DD and playing those levels in DS just reminded me i wasnt playing Double Dash, then id get upset, still a good game though.
