i dont know where u guys r going but i saw conduit 2 boxes at the gamestop i went too. n it was i Wii's new release section, but no one cared because ther were 3 bigger games coming out that day

Which is why most Wii games are about the long term. They just have to care later on after they play those other games.

^^^ Yeah i dont really agree, where talking about a FPS shooter here. IMHO even if one were to finish those games that released that day. There are just too much better options to play. I havent even gotten to Crysis 2, i had to skip that because i got too much FPSs right now, ill probably get that before Conduit 2. hell Fear 3 is right around the corner and im more excited for that than i care to admit

When I say shooters don't work on the Wii, it's not because of the controls, oh no, the controls are great. It's because Nintendo doesn't publish any FPS's other then Metroid Prime, which is technically a First Person Adventure game. Third Party software hasn't seen very many polished FPS's on the Wii.

It's the developers fault, not the console. Yes Red Steel 2 is pretty good, but what else is there? Conduit 1 and 2 generally got 7.5-8/10 scores. How many PS3/360 shooters come out every year that get that rating? Already this year there is Dead Space 2, Homefront, Crysis 2, Killzone 3, and BulletStorm, and I've very excited about Uncharted 3, Gears 3, Mass Effect 3, L.A. Noire, Duke Nukem, and Resistance 3.

I have to agree here.  While I'm enjoying Conduit 2, really the only Wii FPS (aside from Metroid) that's worth getting over HD comparibles would be Goldeneye.  It's top notch single and multi-player and the split-screen is a ton of fun.

Conduit 2 is fun, worth renting just to see what is possible on Wii graphically/online mulitplayer wise.  But I couldn't advise to buy it over Portal 2 or Gears 3 or ME3 or such.

If you only own a Wii (like myself now) and are sick of Goldeneye/CoD then for sure - pick it up!

Goldeneye is a port, so really Wii only has Metroid Prime 3, and arguably Red Steel 2. Wii is better for platformers, I want Pikmin 3!

Shooters don't work on Wii

There are a whole host of gamers and media that highly, highly disagree with you on these points.  I'm both.

But, if you prefer, you can use the GC controller or the Classic Controller.

I fail to see how that relates to your earlier comments.  You said MP3 was difficult to play.  Then you said shooters don't work on Wii.  Both of these statements allude to the controls being the issue, not the quality or quantity of the genre on Wii.

If that is indeed what you meant, better phrasing would likely have helped.

Metroid Prime was difficult to play, as in challenging. That's good!

Shooters don't work on the Wii, as in developers aren't putting enough effort into making unique quality titles. The control scheme is fine, but no one is making FPS on the Wii like they are for the 360/PS3.

Sorry if I confused you.

I don't own the game, but I'm not motivated to play it because it just looks bland. Metroid Prime 3 was the only good shooter on the Wii, and it was difficult to play, and had a unique and interesting story. Wii games don't drop in price as fast as PS3 and 360 games do, so why pick up even Conduit 1 for $30 when I can get Vanquish, a much newer and better game, for the same price?

Shooters don't work on Wii, unless they offer an interesting story and art direction. No developer puts enough effort into hardcore Wii games.

I find it funny how someone can preach about FPS controls, and then go ahead and talk about the laughably terrible control scheme that are the dual analogs.

OT:

Conduit 2 is kind of good. That's all I can really say about it.

I can tell you'r a PC gamer.. Also I never said anything bad about Wii-mote shooter controls. When I said MP3 is difficult, I mean challenging, much more then I expected, a good trait.

Nothing wrong with duel analog controls, you just need zoom.

Sorry, you mentioned difficult to play, which I took it to mean the interface was bad. Then said that shooters don't work on the Wii, which only cemented that notion in my head.

I can however tell you, objectively, what is wrong with dual analogs. It's simple really. It's the transition time of your targetting reticule form one object to another. With a mouse the better and more skilled a player is that time approaches 0. On a dual analog set up, no matter how good that player is, the time is always really slow an dictated by the stick.

I know, but how serious are you when you play a game? On my couch I can lean back and relax. Mouse is obviously more accurate, but the concept of holding a controlled without a hard surface is nice. This is why the Wii-mote works, you mix accuracy with controller. It just needs better graphics, I hope we see some nice shooters on Project Cafe.

@vlad  thats very true, but couldnt you say the something similar about motion controls?? the time it takes to move around will always be slower, because you have to take the time to move your rectile to what ever side you need, with sticks the movement is instant, but aiming suffers. K/M>>everything else
