I would say how it is, but I went into GS and they didn't even know it was out and said it wouldn't be in for another week >.<

Even though I pre-ordered.

So I'll wait until next week, but it looks to be a vast improvement!

Yeah, retailer screwing is another way the gaming industry refuses to pick up the ball with the Wii.

Definitely.

At my GameStop there was an entire section dedicated to Portal 2 and another for Mortal Kombat. When I got to the Wii section there was ONE copy of Conduit 2 hidden amongst the other Wii games.

retailers base this off how well they think the game will do though, they have no confidence in Conduit 2.  I don't complain when my Gamestop only buys a few copies of the latest NISA game and you don't see me talking about how retailers are trying to sabotage niche JRPGs.  They just buy what they think they can sell, like any other store.

Oh yeah I totally get that but still... they could at least make it known that the game is there so it can at least have a small chance. Even a piece of cardboard with "NEW RELEASE" written on it with a sharpie would be good enough

I can agree with that, should have been on the new release wall or w/e that store had even if it only had 3 copies.

Yeah, there's a difference between not ordering a lot of copies, and not making it clear it's available at all.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

I enjoyed the first game. The Conduit was a decent shooter with above average graphics for the Wii. I REALLY enjoyed the online before it was hacked to death. I want to believe that Conduit 2 has made improvements and fixed some of the problems, but the review scores are even lower than for the first game. The only real improvement I am hearing is that the environments are more interesting and less linear. Strangely, I have heard no one talk about voice chat (it does use the headset, right?), or Wii motion plus support (it does have it, right?). I know it just released, but I watched two video reviews that never mentioned either of these features. I am looking forward to reading more impressions of how the game stacks up.

In the absence of evidence to the contrary, always assume you have the upper hand.

I don't own the game, but I'm not motivated to play it because it just looks bland. Metroid Prime 3 was the only good shooter on the Wii, and it was difficult to play, and had a unique and interesting story. Wii games don't drop in price as fast as PS3 and 360 games do, so why pick up even Conduit 1 for $30 when I can get Vanquish, a much newer and better game, for the same price?

Shooters don't work on Wii, unless they offer an interesting story and art direction. No developer puts enough effort into hardcore Wii games.

I havent get mine yet, probably next week. I preordered from amazon so it should be on its way here already (I live in costa rica, but I only buy US games, price issues...) I went to one of the "game" stores here, and they said that they are not expecting to get any copy of the game, I would have to pay it in advance to get it in about two weeks or so... So then you wonder why games dont sell anywhere...

Single player only so far.

Big improvements.   Environment textures, enemy A.I., art direction, pacing and difficulty curve, weaponry, music, atmosphere.....

Drawbacks are voice overs.  Kevin Sorbo didn't return and John St. John (best known as the voice of Duke Nukem) does not work well as Michael Ford.  His attitude and phrases are far too much like the aforementioned character rather than what you'd expect from Michael Ford.

Wii Motion Plus is used and you gain better off screen camera control and some stability.

There are a whole host of gamers and media that highly, highly disagree with you on these points.  I'm both.

But, if you prefer, you can use the GC controller or the Classic Controller.

The rEVOLution is not being televised

Haven't had much time to play it yet.  But so far there's some definite improvements - looks even better than the first one.  Best texture work I've seen in any Wii game so far.   Improved AI (although not exactly impressive AI it's still improved).  Better boss battles.  Like the conspiracy objects, at least finding them.

Haven't had a chance to jump online yet.

Story is still a mess - whatever.  I agree with Viper1 re: Voiceover.  In another thread I said the new voice sounded like a 3rd rate Duke Nukem without realizing that it actually is the voice of Duke Nukem.   It still holds true.  The voice doesn't fit the character or setting (or other voicework).   Duke Nukem playing as a PG Duke Nukem wannabe is still 3rd rate even if it is the actual voice of DN.     The banter is appreciated but I miss Kevin Sorbo.

Quite the graphics drop when you goto split-screen.  Happens in other games too but it's more noticable here (partly because the graphics are better than those other games to begin with).  Still, split-screen is much appreciated.

Haven't gotten the headbanger headset yet.   WM does work and adds to it but since there's no sword or chainsaw (aww...) swinging in this game it's not a biggie.

Fun?  Yes. But on the default difficulty I'm cakewalking through it.  So I may need to up the difficulty level to get more of a challenge but I'm only on the first level and that's always easy so I'll wait and see.

MP3 wasnt a FPS..it had shooter elements (remember that debate on VGChartz). Personally Conduit 2 story is great. The conspiracy oject add an intersting twist to history..well other are just interesting to begin with. Also, with the change between the first conduit to this...i would say with confident that if any developer put effort into a game its HVS.

and as for shooters dont work on the wii I really have to disagree with you man. The wii mote to me is like a mouse...Id take the wiimote over my xbox controller any day.

and to those worried about the reviews..I dont get it. I really dont. I havent had a chance to read all of the reviews and pick them apart. Id say a fair score for Conduit 2 is anywhere from 7.9 to 8.4. The improvements from the first to the second shows a game evolving rather then just be redone for a profit. The single player has a nice mix of..modes?..missions?.idk what to call it (not wanting to give away levels and bosses)..and the hidden items and messages are great.

There are some meh things about the game.

1. I hate ladders...in any FPS..and the ones in the conduit 2 are a pain. you get stuck on em..

2. bad voice acting..minus Adams actor...the rest are meh..

3. the lock on feature can be a little random. Ive been able to lock on to enemies (single player only) who werent in the same room.

4. Music and voice overs can be drowned out. needs to be better mixed.

5. I miss the Trust logo puzzles...i was hoping for more

6. Would have liked more locations.

those are my current complaints...but their not bad. Just a pain but I still enjoyed this game.
