Duke Nukem is so last gen it's not even funny.

I can't believe people are hyped for this.

It's not really last gen, you probably need to skip back a bit more to find its root. And that root is the reason for this excitement. I mean come on! How many single player FPS can you cite these days that has the level of complexity of those old corridor shooters? Most of those that do have now graduated to the RPG genre.

It's going to be 1 of the rare games that I actually pre-order because I just know it's going to be bloody amazing!! Especially glad that they kept the design of older FPS's, it's terrible going through an uninteractive corridor, so YEAH!!

Wait, how can you say that?  You shoot out of a helicopter!  That makes it this generation.  EVERY FPS today needs this.  Shoot, I hope Duke also respawns like Wolverine to!  That would make it SO much this generation.  Also need very linear level design, so it keeps up with the Jones!  And need to give it the pretenses of being a movie, so there needs to be cutsceens to, LONG cutscenes with people acting in it.  And need a LOT of browns and greys to.  That would help.  I hope he wards off the Russians invading, because that makes it modern to.  Yes, Duke needs to take out the Russians.

what's wrong with the 2010 design? Sure they could make it like the 1993 design,but the cost would be through the roof. Back then games were more basic and simple graphically,so they could afford to make complex corridor shooter's,also why do people act like cutscene's are such a bad thing? games are becoming more like interactive movies,so of course there's going to be more cutscene's.

Because games AREN'T movies, and any game which has attempted it, and I mean ANY,  is kind of a crappy game. Mostly because the game is a really shitty movie and a half-assed game combined into one. Games should be games not movies. Honestly the reason why shooters are so crappy this generation is because the least common denominator of the customers is a fucking idiot who would get lost if there was a single fork in that map there. Just as with music, movies, etc. general game quality has taken a huge fall due that.

Also, pulling off what DOOM did back in the day graphically is INFINITELY more impressive than the shitty graphics that are released on consoles these days.

OT: Duke Nukem has a very special place in my heart. I love it. I just want it to be a super old-school shooter but one that has modern graphics and physics. In fact, if they just redo Duke Nukem 3D with modern graphics and physics but keep all the gameplay the same I would be the happiest.
