http://store.steampowered.com/app/43110

Its on Sale until Monday 10 am pacific time

I thought it was a fun game and enjoyed my play through it. Kind of had the Stalker feeling to it, but was different enough from it.

Around the Network

i found the game to be super awesome. Pro bably the best single-player shooter I have played in a bit.

The game is also $7.99 from Amazon.com (digital download)

I'm thinking about picking it up.

starcraft: "I and every PS3 fanboy alive are waiting for Versus more than FFXIII.
Me since the games were revealed, the fanboys since E3."

Skeeuk: "playstation 3 is the ultimate in gaming acceleration"

Pretty good prices but i don't do PC gaming. And Metro 2033 was never released for the Ps3.

I agree that it is a very good game, but they really need to fix some things for the sequel. The gunplay is kind of loose at times. Like bullet hit detection seems off or something...

Playing something with razor precise gunplay like FEAR next to Metro 2033 really shows how wonky the gunplay is.

Actually the aim  of weapons just sucks dick. The earlier weapons especially are very inaccurate, it's not the hit detection. Considering they can detect whether a knife hit the guy in the neck or his helmet or armor, I am fairly sure this is the best hit detection I have seen yet. The later weapons were a lot less wonkier.

In fact almost all "buggy" complaints I have heard from people come from them not understanding how the mechanics actually worked. Another people bitched about is stealth, when it is perfectly fine and worked just fine for me when I needed it.

I think people just got used to the wonkiness of the weapons the more they played so it seemed less broken.

The very first act is using the most advanced weapons since most of the game is based on flashbacks before that event, and I remember playing that beginning part and wondering if my 3D vision rendering of the crosshair may be broken cause I couldn't hit those creatures properly to save my life lol.

Stealth wasn't bad tho. It wasn't as forgiving as MEtal Gear per say...you get detected, you're pretty much dead. But I liked that...

Well see, I replayed the beginning after I had finished the game, and the guns were very much accurate for me once I realized that their aiming trully does suck bad. Honestly the only weapon which I could count on the entire game to hit were the sniper pneumonic rifle. Other than that I made my way through the game throwing knives because they are the most accurate and do the most damage. But towards the end I had a fully upgraded pistol, and the accuracy of it had really gone up. Basically, the guns suck dick unless they get upgraded. Which makes sense since you aren't supposed to be some form of 1 man army.

On the stealth note. I totally remember people bitching that stealth didn't work because they would shoot then the bad guys would know where they are and shoot back. That is how dumb FPS players have gotten.

P.S. Now that I think about it, the fully upgraded pistol was actually my favorite weapon for far away targets. It always hit and it was silent.

the scoped pistol was awsome, I think a lot of the complaints with the sooting stems from the fact that people treating it like every other shooter and going for headshots which considering most of the humans have bullet proof helmets is never a good idea in metro always sneak up till you can aim for the neck or face and you can take them out in one shot. Yes when you shoot a uy usally the rest of they people arround will hear the sound of them dropping/ the gunshot will alert them, because the sound is "realistically" incorperated into the AI unlike other games. That is not to say the AI wasn't buggy

That is the other thing. The ones with the armor took almost no damage if you hit the armor. People were just too dumb for the games' gameplay mechanics. Specifically the stealth.
