Forums - Sony Discussion - Offical Psp go Dead By sony

the guy who bought it will be devastated!

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

It was a failed miserable experiment. Thank Darwin. We are not ready to handle downloadable only tech.

Downloadable is huge and growing market. It's just this particular implementation that seems to have failed.

The phone market, and pc market are very different than the portable or console market. I think most people who want downloadable only devices go for the the former first.

Yes, totally agree.
In addition to the high hardware entry price versus the psp 3000, it was doom to fail.
Digital distribution is only an option if the games are MORE CHEAPER than the physical copied games.
Sony should used the money saved on packaging and transfer to the customer but they were charging full price for these games that customers themselves have to go home and download 1gig games.  Taking in consideration that some markets actually have download caps from their isps, this will affect their decision in DD plaforms.

Downloadable games is big and growing FAST. It's only a matter of time before iOS and Android lead game sales. Hmm, they might already be ahead right now considering the lackluster DS/PSP sales.

Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.

yeah but that have nothing to do with the important topic of price

ios has made some HUGE strides.........in the 1 dollor download market, do you think it would be half as big if they were selling full games for full price becasue I don't. you can sell 100 games for a dollar a LOT easier than you can sell 2 games for 50 bucks each.

for the style of DD only the psp go was providing market isn't ready yet.
