Forums - Nintendo Discussion - 3DS Bad Batch of Chipset

3DS very Unstable Networking problems.

It has come to my attention that perhaps Nintendo
has made a mistake, I'm at my second repair shipment,
and even though the service is fast and hassle free,
Its obvious, the chips are not capable of handling
the games some Developers are making for it.

I don't think we can really blame developers, I'm sure
they where given some kind of hint as to how much power
this device could handle.   Still its Nintendo's responsibility
to check if the's games work in a way. right?

Is Nintendo's first batch of 3DS a bad batch of Chips?
Id say so. Even my Factory tested replacement can't handle
some games.

Id definitely wait for this first shipment of 3DS to sell out.
If your interested in the 3DS at all that is. =)

Can't handle the games?  All that would mean is it would have frame rate problems.   Do you mean you are getting the black error screen requiring you to turn the system off?   That has nothing to do with the games themselves and is being addressed in firmware updates.

Yes, I'm getting Black screen errors, not from all games, And the
Fire ware update has not addressed the problems.

My first system was sent in for repair's and they have given
me a new 3DS.  This one is Factory tested.

Now I'm shipping this new one in for the same problem.
All the problems I have like freezing. and the Error
power down the 3DS black screen, are system instability's
from what iv gathered.

Id love to know what you think is the problem.
If you don't agree.

Maybe you're one of those lucky people that always end up with bad parts?

Not 100% sure what's with some 3DS systems being unstable, my friend got that error once with Lego Star Wars but I've got 5 3DS games and I've not had it happen even once, I updated as soon as I got my system, my friends error happened with Lego star wars before he updated but not since.

MaxwellGT2000 - "Does the amount of times you beat it count towards how hardcore you are?"

Wii Friend Code - 5882 9717 7391 0918 (PM me if you add me), PSN - MaxwellGT2000, XBL - BlkKniteCecil, MaxwellGT2000

Is this a North American 3ds problem, as i not seen reports from Japan or Europe about the black screen.

That's the game I've been having problems with as well.
I'm really happy to here you guy's are not having any
issues. It gives me hope the 3rd time will be a charm for me.

I love my 3DS allot. I'm spending most of my days playing
it.  I just feel people need to know that. its not perfect,
From my perspective.

My best guess is instable Memory batch.
Components don't always's turn out Perfect. To meet the huge,
launch demands, Quality looks like it may have been jeopardized.
Its been know to happen in the past. Its possible that this has happed
now. People should know about it.

There are bad batches around Ontario Canada where I live obviously.
I hope that I have the only 2. chances are there are more out
there.

To be fair though the Service I need to deal with is really fast and
easy. Id love for a professional Hardware person to give us a better idea
of what could be going on.

It must be your fault somehow.

You are to blame. It's the only logical answer.

It's a software/firmware issue.

There are several people with that same issue and in most cases it happens with Lego Star Wars.

I've only had it once, with Rayman 3D but since I traded it for SSFIV It's never happened again.
