Anyway like people here have said over 100 times, no it's not too late at all.

Though if you're not desparate for a PS3 RIGHT NOW, then I'd say wait a bit till a price cut happens this year or when a console bundle of a game you really want comes out in future.

For Example if you want inFamous 2 and Sony makes a $299 Bundle (160GB inFamous 2), then you should wait for something like that and I'm sure if it's a major exclusive, Sony will make a bundle for it.

Hell to the no man, PS3 has so many games now that are just so wonderful that they can't be missed man.

Go buy a PS3.  You will enjoy.

 I was thinking about getting a ps3 or a 360, (in most part for pro evolution & bayonetta actually) but if the wii2 turns to be true, I am not buying any of those. I know the ps3/360 has a lot of great games but I dunno, I think zelda, TLS and xenoblade will be enough for me before the wii2 arrives, maybe is just me...

It's always a better financial idea to buy late. The console is cheaper, the games are cheaper... you have more content directly and don't have to wait for good games...

Now with the PS3 still at 300$ after 4 years, it's arguable, but it's not a bad idea by any means.

I for one think the price is still too steep, but it's due to my personal interpretation of the theory. If your entrypoint is higher than mine, go for it.

The absolute best time to buy, though, is when the next gen of non compatible hardware hits (PS3 without BC made the PS2 an absolute gem to possess... similarly, there was no reason to buy a GC because the Wii was there). I myself will wait to see if PS4 is BC... it it is I won't even consider the PS3. If it isn't... i'll look into whether I have the time to devote to it.

Ps2 is still selling 4 years after PS3 premiere, PS3 will be here for at lesat 5  years, thats 5 years of great gaming!

Jack Tretton spoke quite clearly: it's never too late to upgrade to PS3 and start using your babysitter for something juicier than playing with Nintendo consoles and portables!
