Nintendo Console Cycle... so what does this mean???

Somebody at GAF pointed at this:

US Nintendo consoles launch

NES - late 1985
SNES - 8/23/1991
N64 - 9/29/1996
GCN - 11/18/2001
Wii - 11/19/2006

So yep the famous "5 year cycle" is quite real  in NA; in Japan the first Famicom was released in late 1983 and the SFamicom late 1990 (that's the only Nintendo console with a different cycle; 7 years), so anyway, will Nintendo continue with the idea of releasing the next console late this year (that'll explain the early release of the 3DS) or it's going to release it next year making the Wii the second console with a loger life cycle in the company??

Wii 2 will not be launched in 2011. Their argument is invalid.

end of next year as i have always said

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

Next year, from the looks of it.

Things have changed and the 5 years cycle won't happen this time, they still have to anounce the console so don't expect it this year.

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

it will be next year, Wii sales are currently fine as they are still selling very well compared to the PS3 and 360, and I don't think Nintendo would have Wii2 and 3DS on both their first Christmas' at the same year

Next year, I think. Wii definitely has one more big Q4 left in it.

Mid to late 2012 is my expectation ...

End of 2011 would be ideal. End of 2012 is 1 year late, but better late than never.

If it comes out at the end of 2011, then I will have no more need to buy any PS3 games, since it is likely that the remaining games the PS3 has to offer will be on the next Nintendo console too.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

All signs point to Wii getting a decent enough holiday '11 lineup, Dragon Quest probably sometime in mid 2012 (in Japan, at least), so 2011 is extremely unlikely

I have half a guess that a lot of this next-gen Nintendo noise is a conspiracy of sorts, a reckless stoking of the internet community for hits that have the only grain of truth being that a new Nintendo console is in development

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
