The 360 is gone in PAL regions and Japan, the PS3 will keep outselling during most of 2008 including the holidays. I think the gap will be dramatically cut to only 2 million (maybe 360 - 22 million, PS3 - 20 million).

Just for records, GTA3 didn`t boost PS3 sales on week release.
BUT, GTA3 had overall effect in PS2 sales.

Same with Warhawk, Lair, Heavenly Sword, Ratchet, Uncharted, Folklore, UT3 - these games didn`t made OMG boost in sales of PS3, BUT HELPED to reach around 9 mln. consoles sold by the end of 2007.

In reality, i can see only FFXIII and maybe GT5, which could alone sell over 300k consoles. Though probably, 30% of those who wanted GT5, will buy ps3 after GT5:P release. There are some chances for KZ2 with proper adverising, like "most cinematic game in history". =)

You know the funny thing? The PS3 is just selling itself. Sure there are a couple of games but the big ones are next year. I wanna see the sales then. When GTA4 is released it will be a close race who will sell more that week worldwide. Im guessing PS3 since GTA is huge in Europe and so is the PS3.

The numbers I have see the 360 with a slight lead - ahh, I'm including the one extra week at the start (where the  360 gained 50k in a week).

Back dating of figures has also advantaged the PS3, with numbers tending to be revised up (I think 3 times now the 360 took a slight weekly lead, only to lose it a couple of days later).

Its an easy statistical tie. There are also two ways to look at the numbers overall:

 - PS3 viewpoint: Sony has done a great job of matching 360 WW figures from year 2, with year 1 of the PS3

 - 360 viewpoint: MS has done a great job matching the PS3 figures, with Sony throwing everything possible into the market (price cuts, new models, bundling, etc). MS still has a lot of "bullets" in their gun. 

MS has won, plain and simple. Why ? because evene it it get outsold by ps3 in 2008, it has already a big part of the pie.
Sony went this gen with a trackrecord of 70% marketshare. a 35% market share or 50% even is not that good, from where they are coming.

Anyway, here in EU, ps3 is very big.

The main thing is that EU is becoming the #1 market, in $$$.
At the rate of 1.4 USD = 1 Euros, you need to sell 1.4x the amount in US to match EU sales.
I think a lot of publishers will see that. With ps3 leading the way in the marketplace with the highest margins, it may change some decisions (like what should be the leading dev platform ?).

This is only the start of a multi-year war... Glad Sony finally showed up for the fight... Too bad it took a $100 price cut just to equal 360 sales though. 360 is still in the driver's seat.

Why start at Nov 10th? Why not start at the beginning of Nov? Maybe because the 360 outsold the PS3 by 50,000 units that week.

The PS3 may outsell the 360 in Hardware by the end of this Gen but that does not matter. Software sales are where profit is made. The PS3 will not be able to beat the 360 in software this Gen.
