I was expecting Socom 4 to be in the 75 - 80 range in terms of reviews. This is disappointing. But the FW sales could still be quite suprising. ( Especially if it launches at around 500,000 ) I might pick this one up if it drops price.

I am a big Socom fan. I still consider Socom 2 the best online game ever over 500 hours of playing it back in the day.

Socom 3 was a let down, Combined assault was a let down...Confrontation was a return to Socom but the developers did a sloppy job, Socom 4 is a complete sell out it's Call of Duty in 3rd person. Zipper completely removed everything that was great about Socom and turned Socom into a generic shooter. I find it hilarious that they think that if they make it like Call of Duty a mainstream game people will swtich to Socom...sales will prove them wrong.

The ironic thing as bad as the reviews are and as disappointed I was with the beta, i'm most likely still buying it Tuesday

Hopefully Zipper will listen to their fans when this game bombs, it deserves the reviews its getting so far.

I couldn't possibly agree more.

I actually think the game sucks. It looked good but the controls and veiwing ability are typical Socom. I guess if you like the franchise it will be ok.

Socom just isn't what it used to be. I tried the beta and personally thought it was pretty bad. Maybe the single player campaign can save this game. I still hope it does well.

69 average is bad? You know the game rating is broken when an 8 is average and anything below is mediocre at most...

OT: Let's see, bad reviews did not sees to affect Homefront sales too much. As for the game quality, I can't say anything because I've never been into SOCOM.

I might have tried this one out for the singleplayer, but not anymore.

I heard the single player was weak, Since Im not a big multi-player guy....Im gonna pass

Yeah, the destructoid review is especially harsh, which is bringing down the score on metacritic.com. I can't help but wander how badly this will effect sales.

Jim Sterling did the review, he is a prat and I pay no attention to his reviews anymore. I mean he gave Fist of the North Star a 9/10 for christ sake, I trusted him then and that game while a pile of dung (like what just about every other reviewer said).

The best way to find out if you can trust somebody is to trust them.

hmm...Sony really got it bad with some exclusives like Move Heroes, Motorstorm Apocalypse or Socom 4..

- Motorstorm's score isn't too bad. It's actually decent.

- I have yet to see a Move game that actually looks good. If they're not going to make innovative use of the hardware, then they deserve the reviews they're getting.

- SOCOM 4 aimed for mainstream COD appeal rather than what made 1 and 2 so great. Confrontation was back on the right track if it wasn't so broken.

I hope Zipper learned their lesson.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

I disagree, because if you look at homefronts sales on the xbox within 4 weeks the sales have dropped dramatically, its not even registered at a million yet, only 995,000 copies, yes its near a million. Homefronts first 4 weeks werent as consistant as it was for killzone 3. Then for the ps3 version of homefront the sales are barely at half a million in the first 4 weeks. WHen your barely keeping up with a single platform game as a multiplatform game somethings wrong there.
