Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Dear Nintendo: For the Wii2 I want______(insert suggestion)

One thing I definitely dont want is a return to Dual Analog as the main controller.

Let the past die. Long live the future of video games!!

Around the Network

Less gimmicky name....wtf does that even mean? Anyways I just want it to have custom soundtracks as a universal feature not game to game like on 3DS.

Probably in order of preference:

1. Total revamp of Wii shopping channel - This is desperately needed! Wii's online pales im comparison to it's competitors. In fact, I'd say it's the clear difference between the Wii and the HD consoles (graphics can be dumbed down to still have a playable game, like the did on the PS2 vs the GC/Xbox last gen, when the developers weren't so lazy). Something like Steam: put all details in the cloud, secure it down TIGHTLY (we saw what happens this week when you don't do that) and get into deals with 3rd parties to release your ENTIRE library on the NES, SNES and N64, and start moving GameCube into the store. Help out 3rd parties with this if need be. It will help towards building a better relationship with them.

2. Region unlocked system, with all games produced able to display as 50fps or 60 fps - It used to be a hassle in the days of the 16bit consoles, butthere are programming techniques happy to work in any framerate (see: PC). If not, secondary choice would be: Deband Nintendo of Australia, and transfer sales power to Nintendo of America - this is a long shot, but please god, let this happen! Australia does not require the multiple languages in the European Union, and TVs made within (at least) the past 11 years support both 50Hz PAL and 60Hz NTSC formats.

3. More friendly relations with ALL 3rd parties - Not just the bigwigs, the STARTING DEVELOPERS. Your regulations on the Wii were ridiculous for independent developers wanting to start on a Nintendo console. You tightly regulated publishing, and even sent the new hopefuls away, ones with "not enough industry experience". Seriously, what was this for? To try and stop some garbage from appearing on WiiWare? Last I checked, it was pretty full of it already. Take a page from what Microsoft has done with the XNA Creator's Club. It's an incredible way to seek out the budding young hopefuls to develop for your system.

4. A low-cost premium system online, say $5. If you get a million subscribers, use the costs to hire developers to develop additional content for already released games (who wouldn't like to see a new Mario Kart track released each month?) It would give old games even more legs!

funny everyone is talking about power and graphics...I thought Nintendo fans never cared about that stuff

Same could be said about Sony fans at the start of this gen, but all of a sudden, graphics became very important!

Keep in mind that this hardware has to last them for the next 6 years, so duh, of course it's going to outpower all systems of this generation, even if it eventually looks underpowered in next gen.
