Forums - Microsoft Discussion - I'm buying myself a new Xbox, and I want to buy it some presents

So, GAME are selling the 250gb Xbox 360 S for 25% off, and I decided to get myself one as then I can be sure mine won't break and I get a nice large hard drive as well as silence!

And just a quick check, I need to a hard drive transfer cable bring all my stuff across from my 20GB Pro don't I?

Finally, my Xbox has been left alone a little recently. In the last 6 months, all I have really used it for is Fable III and Mass Effect 2 DLC and all I plan to do is play some more Mass Effect 1 & 2 before Gears of War 3, so what should I get for my Xbox to make it feel more loved?

Alan Wake is pretty great if you storybased actiongames. It's a bit scary too.

you can copy all files to an external hdd or a usb stick. if i remember correctly you can use up to 20gb per usb device so that should fit and then restore the files to your new xbox.

Thanks, I have 1 TB HDD, so that should save me some money

@ rainbird, I have played Alan Wake, not my favourite though

you have to have a partiton that is about 20gb. im not sure if the xbox creates one. i used a usb stick with 8gb and it worked fine but i didnt have much on there except for a few demos and savegames. i deleted the installed games and reinstalled them later. was the easiest and quickest way because i had no externel drive with some space on it

Well I also have a 120GB HDD with less essential information on it (the 1TB HDD has a back up of PS3 and PC, so I need to make sure it doesn't do any formatting on that one) so that should make sure everything is all fine!

I honestly can't think of one 360 exclusive that you probably haven't played :-S

Have you gotten any Arcade games lately?

EDIT: Maybe Halo Reach? Its only $40 new in the US in most stores.

Well I was considering getting Reach for £10 with the console, but Bungie have enough money, so I will just play local co-op with my friend who already has it

Instead, I got Dragon Age 2 for £15 with it, so that will keep my Xbox busy, and I might go back through Gearses in co-op as well as remind myself why I love Halo Wars so much

If you call MS they give you a Transfer cable for free...   I know stores and on Ebay you can buy it..But that is for the ones who can't wait..

Anyway I have now two transfer cables ^^' Only hope it also works for the X360 slim.

I'd suggest Left 4 Dead 2 (unless you'd rather get it on PC), Halo: Reach, & Gears of War 2.

L4D 2 is something that I had been considering. I am assured that it is not scary (right!) and my friend (who already has Reach) and I want some co-op games to play

And I have already invested around 4 days of gaming into Gears 2
