Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Wii Play 2: Motion plus bundle

Coming to NA 13th of June, Wii Play Motion will come bundled with a Remote Plus and packed with 12 minigame collection (from the cover you can see Mary Poppins, Whac-A-Mole and Skipping games in action). We've all been wondering what software Nintendo has been developing for the Motion plus. After the respective successes with Wii Sport and Wii Play, the sequels' for the Motion plus carry on with Wii Sport Resort to introduce the periferal and Wii Play 2 Motion to decimate the third parties.

Wii owners will be twisting, turning and enjoying themselves like never before, whether they’re newcomers to the console or have already discovered the fun of the popular Wii Play game. From catching a gust of wind by tilting an umbrella to fending off garden pests by swinging a mallet, each of the 12 included games will have players smiling wide as they use their Wii Remote Plus controller (or Wii Remote with Wii MotionPlus™ accessory) in a variety of interesting, sometimes unexpected ways. Wii Play: Motion comes packaged with a Wii Remote Plus controller – which combines the original Wii Remote controller with the precision of Wii MotionPlus – to deliver great value, precise motion control and immersive social fun that anyone in the household can pick up and instantly enjoy.

Some new info on the title. Confirmed European launch on the 24th of June 2011, and will come packed with the special red Wii Remote Plus. As previously stated the game is a collection of 12 minigames, here are some explained:

In Wind Runner, your Mii character will be sporting a pair of roller skates and carrying an umbrella. Use your Wii Remote Plus to open the umbrella which will in turn carry your Mii character along a race course. By strategically angling your Wii Remote Plus your Mii character can change direction, jump and increase speed as it makes its way to the end of the course while dodging obstacles in its path.

In Cone Zone you tilt the Wii Remote Plus in the correct position to balance ice cream within a giant waffle cone and stop it from falling, while extra scoops are being added.

In the minigame Skip Skimmer where you can skip stones along a lake, there is a Score Mode in which up to four players take it in turn to skip stones through a series of rings with the aim of getting to the target at the end. By strategically angling the Wii Remote Plus you can compete against your friends to get the highest score in order to win the game.

Other minigames are:

Treasure Twirl where the Wii Remote Plus acts as a “winch” to collect deep-sea treasure.
Spooky Search will see you working with up to three of your friends to apprehend and collect wayward spirits that have escaped through your TV screen - and into your living room. Using the speaker on the Wii Remote Plus, you are up against the clock to try and locate the ghosts. By pointing your Wii Remote Plus off screen and anywhere around your living room – whether that be above or behind you, your goal is to snare as many ghosts as you can and ‘drag’ them one by one back into your TV screen.

Holy crap, a new Wii game!

(I'm actually not being facetious)

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

Awesome stuff, we'll see two titles from Nintendo using Wii MotionPlus after E3, Zelda and this new water based game. Lets hope anyway :P

Cool. I actually enjoyed the first game, and found several of the games to be very fun. So I'll probably get this one soon after it releases. Its also just nice to have Nintendo announce another Wii game.

I honestly doubt this game will be successful. Can Nintendo really differentiate it from games like Wii Party?

If some of the games are good I might get this.

Hmmmmmm. Is this what Reggie meant when he said new Wii games to be announced? Colour me disappointed... I was hoping, and will still hope, for Pikmin, F Zero, Wave Race etc... Still, if this turns out to be a decent mini game collection it may be worth picking up.

I liked how both Wii Sport and Wii Play introduced players to the new Wii controls at the beginning of the generation be it motion (sport) or IR (play). Resort showed the enhanced motion gameplay from the  gyroscope, I really don't see what this new Wii Play objective is since it is subtitled "motion" (no IR)... other than increase motion plus adoption.

Might get it if it's fun (already have four mplus enabled remotes), but I'm hoping for more unique stuff next.
Let the second motion wave commence

I'm struggling to see the point of this game to be honest. Motion plus needs more than this.
