Well, guitar hero worked, and I doubt they originally thought it would've done so well, so they probably figured might as well copy it with their own toy (ride/shred). Tony hawk 8 and prove grounds ( if that was the name?) seemed cool, but, skate raped the skateboarding scene. unfortunately =/ THUG and thps4 were one of my fav ps2 games =/

i seriously have no hope or faith that this new tony hawk game will be any good i already have an urge that it could be a dead on arrival feel

Well, if activision make one more Hawkster game, and it played anything like between parts 3 and Project 8, then count me in.

With proving Grounds they tried to cram far too much in to the game in terms of objectives (and i hated all that take a snapshot whilst your doing a trick crap in PG)

Skate is not everyones cup of tea (personally i don't even remotely like it) so it would be nice to play an extreme sports game again the old skool way (D-pad controls, not bloody analog)

If activision don't make a Hawk game the old way......... then my only wish is that THPS 3, 4 or Underground make it on to our  Arcade/download services.

I lived by THPS3. No game in the series since has matched that excellence.

Shoot, they could've stopped the series right there and just made remakes every new generation.............like Ubisoft does for Rayman 2 haha.

yea me personally skate not my cup of tea but idk i litterly have no hope in the tony hawk games anymore

one the they absolutely positively have to do is lose that stupid peripheral and get back to the standard controller

I have a feeling the next TH game will be the last.  The series hasn't done well in a long time, and Tony's star is fading.  He hasn't won a medal for skating in ten years, and mostly lives off of cameos on TV shows now.  Acti has really run the series into the ground, to boot.  No need to beat a dead horse.
