Capcom, lol. Are these the guys that put SF4 on the iphone and that other system renowned for it's fighters, the PC, instead of the console responsible for the biggest selling fighting game ever? Whoever made that decision should be fired. Tatsunoko haha, Wii owners aren't even allowed some familiar characters from Marvel. Good job I'm a Tekken guy and the only thing I want from Capcom is a new Ghouls n Ghosts.
It's a sad day when the guys who made Street Fighter created the fighting genre can't even compete with one of Nintendo's B-listers. Same goes for Tekken, Soul Calibur and Mortal Kombat. Are they scared of going up against Brawl or do they only work in HD or something? Funny, I remember when Mortal Kombat would happily whore itself out to every possible last gen system available.

ah come on they wouldn't sell anywhere near the HD versions. Brawl is totally different from other fighting games, just like Mario Kart is different from every kind of HD racer.

I think you underestimate how many old school/lapsed gamers their are on Wii. The gamers that made the first 2.5d Donkey Kong, the first Mario Kart and continued the success of 2D Mario are the same ones who did the same for the original Street Fighter and MK. Even ignoring Brawl, the fact that SF went back to 2D means it could easily have beat the paltry 3M the HD consoles cobbled together.
Their is plenty of room for another arcade racer on Wii. It won't do Mario Kart's numbers but few games do. Diddy Kong did fine on the N64 and I remember Street Racer doing fine on the SNES. Considering how much everyone jumped on the Wii Fit and CoD/FPS bandwagon, I think nobody capitalising on Mario Kart Wii's success is a travesty.
EDIT: I think you also underestimate how 'casual' both Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat were originally. The SNES version singlehandedly doubled the combined HD remakes.

yeah but the HUGE difference is that Donkey Kong and Mario are Nintendo franchises and the others are not. Street Fighter and MK have splitted their fan bases a loooong time ago.
If so why didn't Goldeneye or any other FPS (CoD) on the Wii sell as good as Goldeneye on the N64 ? Probably the most successful console for FPS at that time. Simply because the fanbase went elsewhere and this is also true for Beat'em Up and Racing fans that don't involve Nintendo characters.
I'd agree if the Wii was a direct successor to the SNES, but it's not, not even close.
Would they sell decently on Wii ? pretty sure yes, but none of them would beat their PS3 or 360 counterpart.
