It speaks a lot about Capcom that one of their representatives is a lier and a biased person. Plus fans don't forget things that easily.

You'd be surprised? How so?

I only see ports, spin-offs and low budget games among those you listed. Save for MH.

Really, the only big budget game Capcom gave Wii owners was MHTri.

After all that effort to localise it too...

He never listed that game...

Plus I knew someone would come up with TvsC. The fact is that it wasn't a big budget game. It's a good game, but it had a lot of things removed from the original Japanese release. Plus the engine is ready for more fighting games, yet they just probably had to localize this in order for investors not to complain about Wii support, that's why we never saw another fighting game, not even a port of MvsC 2, or 3 or any other game for that matter. They even released fighting sticks for the Wii and promised that we would get good use out of them...

And I don't think it was that hard for them to localize a FIGHTING game. Yes, I know about the legal issues with the franchises, but it was a legal effort, not a programming effort. It's not a big deal.

While it's true that the game was fairly cheap to produce, the fact is localization was more than just lawyers and taking out content.  For the characters they took out they added new ones in, plus a couple of extra unlockable characters, and balanced the game out more.

They added so much they also released the new version in Japan.

Basically TvC was a really good effort, it was a really good fighting game, and it took a lot of hassle on the development side as well as the legal side.

Why were there not more efforts like TvC, MHTri, and the RE rail shooters?  I'm not certain as none of them did poorly, much better than some of their more expensive ventures, but Capcom has put out some really good titles on Wii no doubt, other than Street Fighter IV I can't tell you a compelling game they've put on other platforms this gen.

Capcom might be lying to themselves that they didn't sell well, just so they can justify not making more for the system. SF IV isn't really tearing up the charts on the 3DS (not claiming it's flopping, just not selling that well, as fighting games aren't really big sellers on handhelds; it really would have sold better on the Wii, especially with TvC and the VC SF games making a base), but Capcom will likely support ithe 3DS anyway, more because they like the tech than any audience there.

Actually the opening for SSFIV 3D is as big as the opening for SSFIV on 360 and the console versions were released at cheaper prices than standard and has been out so long that it has now dropped below the price of the 3DS version... yet still it sells decently

Basically I feel SSFIV 3D will do a million simply because launch games get a decent bit of attention and SSFIV right off the bat is a good starter, more people that have yet to pick up a 3DS will still be interested in SSFIV on the go, if it sells beyond that I think Capcom would be very happy (not that reaching a million wouldn't make them estatic to begin with)

My issue is that Lost Planet 2, Dark Void and Bionic Commando failed and they still make alot of HD-games, but they abandon Wii because Spyborgs and Darkside Chronicles sells badly when people pretty much told them they weren't interested in them from the moment they were announced. They also lied and told us RE4 and Umbrella Chronicles were tests that would lead to more Resident Evil. It was also a punch in the face when they claimed Wii didn't have enough power or buttons to make Street Fighter 4, but iPhone apparently did

You can easily find Capcom's problem when you look at their highest sellers on the console (RE4 and MH3) and look at what else came from them. They started building an audience with RE4 and then let them down with whatever they spat out after that. Their lucky MH3 sold as well as it did.

The same happened with Activision and the COD series. When you introduce games to an audience and then don't follow up on them, you lose that audience. Activision is lucky that Modern Warfare sold over a million and Black ops is on it's way to the million mark as well. The way Wii gamers have been jerked around on that series it's no wonder the games haven't had a growing following. COD3 sold 2 million so far and since then sales have been decent but not getting any better when they COULD be going up.

Shame what companies like these do to the WIi audience, it's as if they don't want their games to have a following on the console or something.

come on the wii got tsatsunoko vs capcom and mh trii. thats more then enough.

Being in 3rd place never felt so good

Capcom are done with the Wii and Basara 3 was the last hurrah. They have at least half a dozen games for the alternate home consoles and a number of games in development for handhelds, but not one game for the humble Wii. What does that tell you? Sure there's E3 and various other events but honestly who gives a shit, I mean does anyone really expect Capcom to announce a Wii game? I'm certainly not holding my breath.

If anything, the notion that Capcom should cease or rethink any possible future Wii projects because of the failure of Darkside Chronicles only highlights just how small and insignificant they believe the Wii and it's market to be.

Capcom, lol. Are these the guys that put SF4 on the iphone and that other system renowned for it's fighters, the PC, instead of the console responsible for the biggest selling fighting game ever? Whoever made that decision should be fired. Tatsunoko haha, Wii owners aren't even allowed some familiar characters from Marvel. Good job I'm a Tekken guy and the only thing I want from Capcom is a new Ghouls n Ghosts.

It's a sad day when the guys who made Street Fighter created the fighting genre can't even compete with one of Nintendo's B-listers. Same goes for Tekken, Soul Calibur and Mortal Kombat. Are they scared of going up against Brawl or do they only work in HD or something? Funny, I remember when Mortal Kombat would happily whore itself out to every possible last gen system available.
