Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Capcom's Wii Support

I've stumbled upon an answer given by Sven, of Capcom USA when asked: "Is Capcom done with the Wii?"

To summarize things I've read through the entire thread and they were asking where were all the games promised by them at the beginning of last year that were coming, that we had to stay tuned, according to Sven himself.

Sven asnwers:

"I have no information to share for the future but I will remind you, we have released six titles on VCA in the past year."

LOL.

And then a moderator there goes out defending Capcom's decision on not supporting the Wii anymore with RE games because RE:DSC sold badly.

Please read the thread, it's embarrassing for Capcom, such flat out lies and manipulations with the Wii crowd that I'm out of words.

Oh and the game Capcom are teasing is almost confirmed to be an HD game. That would make 7 upcoming HD games and 0 (zero) Wii games. Good Job Capcom.

Bets with Conegamer:

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

Didn't they tell us that there was still a big game from them for Wii?? I guess it was a lie. Capcom just can't live without disappointing its fans, they aren't even localizing Ace Attorney Investigations 2 and they didn't translate Okamiden. SSFIV 3D is their only positive decision about Nintendo consoles in the last years...

EDIT: reading that thread, I must say that pretty much all the arguments of people are correct...800k for RE DSC is a lot and they sure made profit out of it. The only reason for not developing on Wii would be to have a better market, but if they developed for Wii MORE than just 3 great games (RE4, TvC and MH3) maybe the userbase would be here to support them.

CURRENTLY PLAYING: Xenoblade (Wii), Super mario 3D land (3DS), Guild Wars (PC)

I caught Sven in a series of contradictions and lies a couple of years back.  Along with hsi bias, I have long since stopped listening to him.

Capcom is so confusing these days.  Not just with the Wii but industry wide.  Their comments and actions regarding Japanese development and western development just make one tilt their head sideways and make a facial gesture depicting disbelief.

Even if they haven't release much on Wii of late Capcom have probably been the best third party dev on the Wii.

Complaining about them is rather shameful.   Complaining about their DLC practices on HD consoles is fair game though.

Why can't I complain over a valid point?

It's like saying that I can't complain over a friend lying to me because he was my friend for a long time. Doesn't work that way.

Projects get scrapped or delayed, it happens.  Should I be complaining Capcom lied to me about MH3 on PS3?

Yes, you should have done so when it was the time to.

Capcom is a strange company. But I like them.

They've released a load of great Wii titles, from Resi to Monster Hunter to Okami to Spyborgs, and many more.

The Wii has been a good console for Capcom, and I'd be surprised if there's no more Wii games in the pipeline

It speaks a lot about Capcom that one of their representatives is a lier and a biased person. Plus fans don't forget things that easily.

You'd be surprised? How so?

I only see ports, spin-offs and low budget games among those you listed. Save for MH.

Really, the only big budget game Capcom gave Wii owners was MHTri.

And that was the last game they gave Wii owners, and look how much money it gave them.

Capcom, Ubisoft and Sega are the only companies who have really tried on the Wii, and, it's payed dividened for them.

Disney and Activision are in the middle with a few hits.

EA, Bethesda, Epic etc.just haven't tried, and you don't get anything for nothing...

At any rate, it terms of units sold, Capcom have made the most from the Wii (actually, just behind Sega), and with the games coming out ATM, I'd be surprised if they didn't have more to show us.
