Forums - Gaming Discussion - No Fuss Reviews 2011 Console Failure Rate Survey

The problem with reviews like these is that most people only respond when they're not satisfied or have some sort of vendetta.  The results end up being pretty skewed because you just don't have a good sampling of people.

That site got their numbers from a survey on a web page so the people that do answer it for the most part are going to be those people that have some sort of bias.

The Xbox seriously can't have had a 50% failure rate, how are these stats found?

I would not be surprised...I thought at the beginning (first year) the RROD alone accounted for 30% of the problems, this survey includes more like 'open tray can not read discs'  scrathing X360 games etc..

People always have bias, I don't know the site so can't say how bad the bias is..

How many submissions were logged?

In total we measured 511,987 submissions, we discarded submissions in our final result after the 500,000 mark.

What was the demographic of the survey?

32% answered questions relating to the Wii
38% answered questions relating to the PS3
30% answered questions relating to the 360

I put the link in OP... there are other graphs too.

Because if it is based off number of respondants, it means little, as people who have had issues are more likely to respond

TEH WII IS DOOMED

Good for the 360 coming down, but 1 in 5 is still bad...

Next gen should be better now we're used to this tech.

Also, my Wii broke 18 months ago and I still haven't fixed it. I've played it for 500 hours since then. It depends on what they class as a 'failure'...

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Yes, people always have bias but there's an added bias when it's a completely option survey like that.  Most of the people that answer will have something negative to say, that drives to them to speak out.  When they're happy, they're not as driven to speak out.

This is not good.  When/If that red line and that green line on that graph intersect then, by my calculations......oh, shit.  The prophecy was true.  IT WAS TRUE!!

*runs away*

I was hoping this was from a retailer or distributor. As it is, it's worthless per above.
