  • VGChartz 3.0 doesn't allow Windows Phones to post on the forums.
  • 360 fans are too busy fapping over videos of Jessica Chobot on XBL and the new chubby, but sexy, Bridget O'Neill. Back in the day, there was a wild piggy beast named Trixie that was allowed to roam free on XBL. Thanks to a brave fellow who sacrificed his own life by impregnating this beast, she has left XBL to raise her family in a familiar habitat in the jungles of Peru, where they can roam free as  a heard. The departure of this foul beast has made it possible for people to go on XBL without the fear of vomiting.
  • 360 fans are much more attractive and social. They are too busy out having sex, than to be bothered with Dungeon Master talk on the internet.

  • lmao

This site seems to have a larger PS3 population, and N4G as well. I'm sure there are other sites that have a larger population of Wii or 360 owners. Are you just making that assumption based on certain sites you visit?

I think the difference was back then that you could definitely get away more with saying stuff about Sony.  I remember when there were threads that were just discussing the games themselves (uncharted, killzone, etc.)  And then someone would just chime "PS3 domination starts with this game, lol, lol, lol"  or "Sony fanboys think this game will save the PS3, lol lol lol." even when the thread wasn't about whether the game would "save" the PS3.  It took a while before those people started facing consequences.

From what I recall, many threads had some PS3 fans implying that X game would make PS3 sell like hotcakes, and also X (basically every) year is the year of the PS3, etc... This went on with pretty much every exclusive and every year there were the same declarations. This was especially bad on N4G, maybe not so much on this site; however, I do remember a fair share of threads had these comments.

This is a British website, which is I belive the region where Sony consoles do their best (amongst English speaking countries that is). The majority of the mods and content providers are British I believe. Consequently, they will focus on those things that they hear about in their general life. That is why VGChartz has such a comparatively small number of MS fans. Many Australian and American websites are very pro-MS, and thus MS fans go there.

There are a fair few Nintendo fans, keeping in mind the demographics of the two different consoles. Teenage males are the overwhelming majority of users on pretty much all forums. The Wii has a higher female userbase (and there are no girls on the internets), as well as more children and adults, who also aren't as likely to frequent forums as teenagers are.

Frankly, the internet has always been one of the prime gathering points for those who consider themselves 'core' gamers.  I mean, make a comparison.  Who were the ones who created the first newsgroups and chat rooms back in the 80s and 90s?  Moderately rich nerds with a focus on technology.  15 years later, a lot of the majority of people who actively focus on forums or newsgroups are the same kind of people....

What kind of games do you think these people play?  Even if they do play Wii games, they're going to focus on the massively hyped and technologically advanced HD and PC games.

Six upcoming games you should look into:

Yeah I find it so damn funny. They talk big about their games, but end up posting over ten thousand times on websites on their favorite games. Do they play them enough though? :)

    It's all about demographics.

Your enthusiast Nintendo fan - the type that'd care enough to do things like post on a forum - grew up in a time before the internet was mainstream.  While they may love Nintendo, they're not all that likely to hang out on websites like this, even if they do keep relatively informed of news via sites like IGN (ie, my brother-in-law - knows almost as much as me about Nintendo, but has never posted on a forum).

The average PlayStation fan, who got into gaming via the PS1/2, grew up alongside the internet.  Hanging out online was normal for them, and it's lead to an older generation of gamers that still do this to this day.

The Xbox fanbase hasn't matured enough to really have a large internet presence.  It's older fans usually grew up playing Nintendo and Sony systems, so their gaming fandom isn't exclusive to Xbox, while the younger generation that grew up with Halo is rather small and limited primarily to the US/UK.
