So, the era of the Original DS is coming to a close, replaced by the much more powerful and hyped 3DS.  Aside from some delayed Japanese releases like Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2 or Ni no Kuni, the system pretty much looks like it'll be overtaken by 3DS games very soon.

Its at this time that we should look back at the last 7 years and remember the games that made us buy the system, the games we played for dozens of hours, and just the plain good games for the system.  I present, The Nintendo DS Awards.  Suggested categories are as follows, but feel free to add more.

Best DS Game Overall: Pokemon Black/White

I feel Elektroplankton should be nominated for something, though that game's rather impossible to classify

You could always put it in the 'Most Innovative' category.  Or make one up for it.
