Forums - Gaming Discussion - I hope (as a Gran Turismo fan) that Forza 4 is better than GT5

well since Forza 3 its already better on many rounds like screen tearing and a lot of scenarios on GT5 looks so ugly everything pasted and empty places and low res textures... we already see awesome graphics on ps3 GT5 is just painfull.i hope that for next GT they care about make a better looking game... in 5 years they haven't done half what Microsoft makes every 2 years with Forza.

My bigest error ever sold my 360 and forza 3 to go buy ps3 with gt5....

I think Forza 3's ratings speak for themselves.

If anything they need to appeal to a more casual audience because sales need to get better.

Forza is already better than GT... haha nice joke =D Forza is not even close.

It still is in terms of ratings. I'm not going to read every review out there because the final score has tallied lower then Forza 3. Madden sold better then the NFL2k series despite the 2k series getting better reviews, this looks to be pretty much the same thing again.

When Forza 4 gets higher reviews then the last Gran Turismo that means It's the better game still, but I bet a lot of people will go the route of saying "Well just wait till the next GT is out!" pretty old if you ask me. Topics like these bring out the true colors of some individuals. Like me, ratings define everything and the only rating I really disagreed with over the last few years would be GTA4s.

Oh you're one of those who only pick their games according to their meta's... no need to argue with you, you're just missing a lot of awesome games with this way of thinking. ;)

It's analagous of how Dallas Cowboys fans rooted against Dallas Cowboys so Wade Phillips would get fired for the betterment of Cowboys' long term future.  I thought Polyphony was a little cocky.  Despite great graphics for cars and some tracks, they didn't put enough all-around polish in the game:  cardboard-looking trees, spectors, jagged edged shadows, rain and just awful menu screen....

If Forza 4 wins over as the consensus leader in racing stim game, then Polyphony has no choice to not rest on their laurels for GT6.

Of what you stated above, I can see issues regarding the menus being valid.  However, what part of how trees look, or spectators, is relevant to driving?  They kept delaying GT5 forever, due to whatever the reasons were for wanting to be improved.  But what do the other complainst have to do with actually driving?

Because they're so bad that they turn my eyes away from the car. And this is not a joke, it just ruins a lot of the fun.

So, how much cash did you get for it when you sold it, or what did you trade it for?  If it is ruined so badly that you can't even pay attention to driving, while playing.  I figured you must of got rid of it.

I think you overestimate how much PD cares about the competition especially Turn 10.

when PD makes GT6 the only sim they'll be looking to improve upon is GT5

speaking of which can't wait till they implement super bikes into the franchise, about time GT and Tourist Trophy join forces

GT5 was fun as hell, while it is true that maybe the main developer (i forgot his name) allocated a little too much time and resources in trying to make all the tiniest little details accurate as far as the cars went..

Give the GT5 liscense to Naughty Dog and you may have had a different looking game...

To quote your sig:

''ARE YOU KIDDING ME''

One of the most rediculous statements I've seen.

EDIT: I can't help being harsh sometimes, sorry, but I have to add some things.

Firstly, HOW can you comment on GT and not know who Polyphony or Kaz Yamauchi is!?

Secondly, the Gran Turismo has been developed by Polyphony since its birth. Polyphony is one of the most respected devs in the world. Seriously.

@OP

As a Sony fan, I am pretty sure Forza 4 wil outdo GT 5.

Forza isn't close to gt5 when it comes to sim racing, also tracks being wider is just not good enough aswell.

I dunno about Forza 4 and with Kinect support being thrown in it might become even more casual.

Sure forza has some good things like the livery editor but all I really care about is the racing.

Look at my 360 collection/DS and let me know what I'm really missing. I just don't have time for more then 20 games a year anymore anyways, and ratings cut a lot of the fat out :P I didn't mention the Wii cause I know I am missing some gems, and only reason I haven't gotten them is cause of lack of time to play the games/not turning on the Wii much. Next generation I am just getting the 3DS and the next XBox.

Test Drive Unlimited 2 had pretty bad ratings but I bought it, though in general 8/10 games I buy have good ratings these days.

Arcade titles don't bother me much cause they are so cheap $5-$10.

It's just that simple.

Racing sims suck and are boring, there's a reason why sales for games on this genre are dying.

I'm convinced you're a joke poster.

Because I speak the truth?

6 million in 4 months... yeah racing sim genre is dying... what other genres sold 6 million in 4 months? LOL

OP: Two kind of diffents games... the first a great racing game and the second a amazing racing sim game. If Turn 10 not change Forza 4 for another type there are no comparison here.

GT5 and Forza 3 appeal to different audiences.
