What I like is that there is now genuine competition in the field. It was only a few years back that IE dominated.

Maybe in 2002 :)

IE browser has been seen as the slow dying elephant in a world of fast tigers up until IE9.

Even back in '08 IE had 70% of the market according to this.

Good to know Firefox got blitzed. Maybe it'll now finally start to weaken.

Why is this 'good'?

Clearly, I dislike Firefox?

Yea IE 9 is officially browser king.

“Absolutely, we can do much more with it. I don’t know if we are even close to 50 percent of PlayStation 3’s power at this point,” said Asmussen about God of War 3.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME???

Kinda moot point, IE9 will not install on my xp sp2 laptop which can't run win7. Firefox 4 does run on xp but not long after I upgraded I got infected with Total xp security 2011, great fun. I have not upgraded my pc yet and it's still virus and trojan free.

I really see no reason to move from Chrome. Unless it slows down in the future or something I'll pretty much stick with it.

I think it was IE7 I was using when I switched to Firefox. IE7 (I think that was the one) was horrendously slow and had these annoying toolbars added on that I had never agreed to. Firefox was like a dream after being stuck with IE for years. Then along came chrome. Oh baby.

What a ridiculous attitude, it's not exactly as though you have to use it. Regardless of whether you like it or not, Firefox pinching marketshare forced Microsoft to up their game with IE. Long may it and Chrome and Safari and Opera etc etc continue to do so.

Now that its job is done, hopefully people start dumping it and moving on to bigger and better. Opera, IE9 etc.

Or of course, it can carry on with its 'job', pushing other browsers to at least keep up with it and making sure that the likes of Microsoft don't become complacent and allow IE to stagnate again. Win-win for everyone.
