Forums - General Discussion - Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story BOMBS

Walk hard brought in just 4.1 million this week in the North American market. Sony's budget for the movie was 70 million and I'm sure they are hoping kids will flock to the theater during winter break in the following weeks. The film got great reviews and I know I'm planning to see it next weekend.

The top 12 movies took in $153.5 million, up 41 percent from the same weekend last year.

1. "National Treasure: Book of Secrets," $45.5 million. (Disney)

2. "I Am Legend," $34.2 million. (WB)

3. "Alvin and the Chipmunks," $29 million. (Fox)

4. "Charlie Wilson's War," $9.6 million. (Universal)

5. "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street," $9.35 million. (Dreamworks)

6. "P.S. I Love You," $6.5 million. (WB)

7. "Enchanted," $4.15 million. (Disney)

8. "Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story," $4.1 million. (Sony)

9. "The Golden Compass," $4 million. (New Line Cinema)

10. "Juno," $3.4 million.(Fox) Limited Release

It's a comedy? Yay!
It's a parody/stire? Erm, maybe.
It's a parody of another movie not done by Mel Brooks? I'll sound like Mr. Crank before 30 minutes in.

See Ya George.

"He did not die - He passed Away"

At least following a comedians own jokes makes his death easier.

I'm going to go with...

Good. Now if someone could get movies like Big Mamma's house to bomb... and anything with Larry the Cable Guy.

I still need to see I am Legend, and then Ill see this one.

saw it tonight. Quite an amazing movie, very original, just an anti-climax ending really.

Original, for a movie based on a book... that's already had two movies based on it! The book being of course "I Am Legend" and the other movies based off it being the Omega Man and The Last man on Earth.
